The "leadings of the spirit" is an expression that the GB have used in the publications.

Inspired - Other words and phrases used by Watchtower.
by pleaseresearch inthis was a brilliant video by bridget azaz.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vg0ftmjknvg.
what other words and phrases does the watchtower use instead of inspired, but basically meaning the same thing.. as we all know watchtower are masters at semantics and have done great in making its members follow them as if they were inspired..

Meeting Attendance levels
by freddo ini attended a sunday meeting today after missing a couple due to a bout of chronic apathy.
out of 74 publishers we had a grand total of 33. wonderful.
for those that attend, how are you finding the numbers?.

I LOVE the name of the "ailment" you were suffering: "CHRONIC APATHY"
I think that is catching amongst many witnesses! And there is no cure.......

Wow!
That is awful!
It is time they were reminded (perhaps with the help of a legal team) of "appropriate boundaries", and "defamation" laws!
You need to fight such stupidity with proper legal means.

"It is the victims right to approach authorities" The weak excuse used by the society
by stuckinarut2 inwe have seen that the society falls back on the line "it is the victims right to approach the authorities" during all the abuse claims.. they use this excuse to try and defend the passive lack of action in failing to report suspected cases of abuse.. a comparison came to mind:.
if we came across a person lying in the street who says they were hit by a car, would we say "it is your absolute right to call the paramedics and police"?.
or would we take the initiative and call those authorities ourselves to help the person?.

Yes, if a victim, or their family approach the authorities and ignore the "elders" direction, they WILL be treated badly.
They will be labelled as being "brazen" or "lacking humility by not following theocratic direction" (whatever that is supposed to mean!?)
WE KNOW the reality of the situation in the society! You do as you are told by the elders and the CO and branch.
I challenge anyone from the society to say it isn't so.

Good thread.
And apparently, accounts about fathers who offer their daughters to be pack raped are also to be applauded??
And also, fathers who commit incest with their daughters....
But this man was a "friend of God" don't you know...
And, arent we supposed to be created in "god's image"?

Has the rebranding worked?
by MrTheocratic init's been several years since the start of the rebranding of jehovahs witnesses.
i believe it started with the website change.
ever since then the religion has moved in a more modern direction.

While the outward appearances may be more glittery, the substance is certainly lacking.
Witnesses have no enthusiasm for activity now.

How do you feel about the expression "The Truth"?
by stuckinarut2 init's amazing how the expression "the truth" has become such an ingrained term used by witnesses.. "we have 'the truth'".
"is he 'in the truth'?".
most here have found out so many facts about the organisation, and felt the effects of being "gut-punched" as we realised these facts.. so how do you feel about the expression "the truth" now?.

I just call it "the society" whenever I talk of the religion.
It gives it the "cultish" sound it deserves.

Great replies everyone!
Keep them coming.
The society is facing its judgement time in most developed countries. Australia is leading the way in highlighting the deplorable culture amongst the witnesses! (although sadly most witnesses are dismissing such news as "satanic propaganda!"
I am so proud of the Australian Royal Commission! The team working there are the most genuine, professional and kind hearted people one could ever hope to meet.
