And what is with God's love of killing animals for sacrifices!!??
That is seriously messed up!
the following article will address these questions, and attempt to answer them.. after helping jwfacts with his page on animal suffering, i decided to write this article.. it is mainly aimed at helping jehovahs witnesses and other believers in god to think about the issue, as well as the apparent contradictions in watchtower teaching.. thanks must go to jwfacts for the encouragement, and giving me permission to use an image from his page and to use some of the quotes.. also, thankyou to cofty for general moral support.. please let me know what you think everybody, and feel free to reproduce any part or all of the article on any other website, just post and let me know that you've used it on your site please.. (i'd appreciate it if anyone could post to tell me they found a point in here useful, it would encourage me to keep going).. okay, here it is:.
why does god allow animal suffering?.
does it trouble you to see animals in pain?.
And what is with God's love of killing animals for sacrifices!!??
That is seriously messed up!
this is another great video from theramin trees called "punishing doubt".
fantastic reasoning, and very well presented!.

quite possibly the most annoying and patronizing thing i've read in years.
comments of mine are in yellow.. .
she doesn't trust herself to make her own decisions and she's going to wait years even after she thinks she's ready.
Wow sir82!!
Thanks for reposting that article!
That is one of the most disturbing pieces of literature the society has ever written. SO many points in it are inappropriate and cringe-worthy!
just random questions for the book questions old people ask.
when can i stop donating my last penny every month to the wt?.
when can i have sex with no guilty conscience due to wt teachings?.
Questions old people ask, answers that work
Question: "What is a generation?"
Answer from the GB : "shut-up and never ask a question again!"
it is an often asked question i know, but it perplexes me.. if witnesses are so convinced that they have "the truth", why is the act of researching information from external sources so taboo?
didn't the bible itself tell people to "use their powers of reason" and also praised ones like the boreans for researching things they were told??.
seriously, if there is no doubt about the organization being "god's channel" on earth, and it alone having the "truth", surely researching would only enhance such 'facts'?.
Well said rainbow_troll!
By classing any information that is negative about the society as "satanic propaganda", it renders it abhorrent in the minds of witnesses....
a relative of mine was telling me, that in his, and a few neighboring congregations, there is a little confusion amongst some of the jw's about this "issue".
some families are having a hard time about whether certain relatives will be attending certain family functions, because some family members that are no longer in the "truth", might be invited to these functions.
mind you, these persons were never disfellowshipped.
Yes, the convention even used the expression:
"We would not associate with such inactive ones, even if no congregation action had been taken"
Now as cobweb said above, they did say "anyone sinning", but we KNOW that in the minds of witnesses, failing to attend meetings due to learning TTATT is THE BIGGEST SIN in their minds...
So, basically, if they think you have "left Jehovah", and yet have had NO "action taken" by elders, you are still to be ignored.

Nice replies! Thanks!
Yes, the FOG (fear, obligation, guilt) tactics certainly contribute to the situation.
Also, its true that the BITE method is used so cleverly by the GB. As many here will know, it stands for
Behaviour Control
Information control
Thought control
Emotion control

Dunedain, for a good summary of the 2016 convention , along with the footage of the paranoia videos shown to all attendees, watch jwsurvey's youtube channel "worst convention ever" series....
Those comments from the GB about avoiding and shunning weak or inactive faders can be seen....
world population growth rate is 1.13%, whilst jehovah's witness average publishers grew by 1.8%.
watchtower growth is outpacing population growth, though at a dismal rate considering the 2 billion hours of preaching required for an increase of just 115,194. this is an aggregate number, and most growth is from developing nations in africa and south america.
what i was really interested in finding is how watchtower growth compares to the population growth in different countries.
Also, numbers of ones coming in is one thing, but the QUALITY of such ones needs to be taken into account.
The fact is that most coming in don't even meet the "high spiritual standards" of "the perfect witness" according to the GB guidelines.

Yes, it is a fact.
The 2016 convention had several talks that warned against associating with ANY who have become inactive, or faded..as well as "less spiritual ones" still in the congregation.
The level of control and paranoia has reached an all time high amongst witnesses, and it has come directly from the GB
