  i want to thank everyone for the support you give in this forum, i know i'm just one of many who feel this way.

  i'm not just talking about feedback about my issues but overall i have leaned so much from what is said to help others who have/are leaving the wts.

  i also want to add the ripple effect that what help one person here goes forward to everyone else in our lives!

  They start of by saying that witnesses are not TOLD what to do in aspects of life, but rather allow "bible principles" to guide them.

  THEN, the whole video, including the 'music video' contains nothing but manipulative DIRECTIONS telling witnesses what to do in aspects of life!

  There is also the worst case of manipulation in the "experience " of someone who comes back to "the truth" because she saw a painting of the resurrection hope!

  Cue emotional music, and propaganda tactics, and it just blows your mind!

  in it they talk about how the organization is structuring things in australia to get out of paying money to victims of abuse.

  the short version, as i remember it, is that they are making each congregation its own individual charity.

  just needing a listening ear, so in advance thanks for being here, no one other than ex-jw's could understand.

  they may try, but i think only a person who lived through it could know what's its really like.. i wish i could be supporting others here but i'm so broken myself i can't seem to do that yet.

  i hope that will come in time though.. for now, i'm trying to undo the damage done to my family by the wts.

  A sincere and genuine "welcome" longgone!

  This is a safe place to express your thoughts and reclaim your life.

  Thanks for sharing your story.

  As many of us have experienced, one of the key steps in breaking free, is to give yourself permission to let go of the FOG that high control groups heap on people. (Fear, Obligation, Guilt)

  Remember, "The only power people or situations have over us is that which we allow".

  Also, see clearly that the life we had was indeed one that fit the BITE model. That stands for :

  Behaviour Control

  Information control

  Thought Control

  Emotional control

  I found that simply being aware of these facts, helps in the process of breaking free of the feeling of entrapment that we battle.

  You have done really well in seeing a proffesional to assist in your journey. A "Cognitive Behaviour Therapist" is another great specialist to see.

  well, he has had a history of telling mistruths, half truths and distortions of facts.

  Why?

  Well, he has had a history of telling mistruths, half truths and distortions of facts. His history has been deliberately obscured.

  He has advocated dangerous directives for others to follow that has compromised their choices on Health, Education, Family life, Employment etc.

  He has secretly colluded with organizations that he has outrightly condemned to others.

  He has used tactics that border on abuse to keep people trapped in his association. He threatens those who try and leave with punitive measures.

  He imposes his views on people's private family lives.
  

  He minimises the severity of child abuse.
  

  The list goes on. Feel free to add to it!

  So, if this "person" was in a congregation, he should be disfellowshipped right?

  i hope all is well.

  my last post over a month ago was going to be the last considering i wanted to get away from all things jw but this place is much harder to ignore than previously thought.

  life has taken some very interesting turns since late last year.

  Fires! "Catastrophic fire conditions" in New south Wales, Australia

  "catastrophic" is the highest level of fire danger and is current in most of nsw.

  temperatures in the high 40's ( c )are being recorded.. some fires have broken out already.

  please keep the fire fighters and these country folk in minds and prayers.. the city of sydney may face power outs as the electrical system cant keep up with the demand for power.

  VIDEO: Queensland - Durack Kingdom Hall - 30th Anniversary

  this newly released original 1987 archival footage - with voice-over narration, commentary and interviews with those involved - takes an in depth look at both the history of the durack kingdom hall and the construction of the current kingdom hall that culminated over two weekends in january 1987.. the original kingdom hall in durack dates back to 1960 - but as the jws continued to experience growth in australia - increasing by some 280% over the following 25 years, it was felt that a new, larger, kingdom hall was now needed.. the new kingdom hall was built in january 1987, but rather than simply pull-down the original kingdom hall, they decided to incorporate it within the new kingdom hall and have a somewhat large auditorium.. another interesting feature of this kingdom hall is the tiered seating used for the back few rows (for example see part 3 around 12:35 and part 4 around 10:50).

  Is it still in existence, or has the society taken possession of that hall and sold it?
