I saw a sister post apicture on Instagram proudly showing "four generations" of family "in the truth" (grandparents, children, great grandchildren....)
I was SO tempted to add a comment : "dont you mean ONE OVERLAPPING generation?"

could you please introduce the phrase "spiritual generation" to replace the phrase "overlapping generation".

Way to make me look stupid . . .
by Coded Logic inwhen the arc made their recommendations to the society last year i genuinely thought we'd see some real changes.
oh sure, i expected a lot of feet dragging, double talk, and general nonsense - but at the end of the day i was certain the society would do what they legally had to and then run around claiming:.
) these new policies and procedures aren't really new we've always done them.

Yes, very sad.
As much as I loathe the organisation, I didn't think they would be so stupid and conduct themselves in such an antagonistic and evasive manner.
However the level of contempt they have shown is proof that they truely need to be brought to task.
I sincerely hope that they face tangible, punitive punishment!

Finished Mystery (1917)... The book that Jesus approved...
by Alfred inso a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).
i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.
but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.

Crazyguy, you asked if anyone has a copy of the book?
Annoyingly, the hall we used to attend threw out all the old books! I was so amazed that they would try and throw away such "theocratic history". I kept the book and read it cover to cover before returning it.
To think that anyone thought that this was "gods channel" is simply mind blowing!

"would you drink a glass of water if it had just a tiny bit of poison in it?"
by stuckinarut2 inno doubt we have all heard that well used "illustration" in public talks etc over the years:.
"if you were handed a glass of water that looked pure, but were told it has just a tiny drop of poison in it, would you drink it?".
the society has used that illustration at length to say we should avoid all influences of every part of the world.. but, as we know, the society has had a track record of errors, false ideas and doctrines.

The way that the society has handled the Australian Royal Commission is proof of the "poison in the water"!
It doesn't matter WHAT they teach or claim about anything, if they are acting so disgracefully during these proceedings!!

My letter to the Australian Royal Commission regarding case study #29 Jehovah's Witnesses
by EdenOne insomeone suggested i would address a letter not only to mr. angus stewart, but also to the royal commission as well.
it merges the two subjects on the same letter (inactive status and shunning; two witness rule), and adds some things more that what i said to mr. stewart.

The reality of "shunning" and character assasination highlighted at the Australian Royal Commission
by stuckinarut2 inonce again, the arc has brilliantly highlighted the reality that any witness who either fades or disassociates is subjected to active official shunning by the organization.. the "brothers" tried to state that it was the choice of the indiviual who steps away from the organization to shun them!
they actually tried to make it out to be the fault of the one who leaves!
then they tried to say that those who fade are not shunned!.

I wrote to Mr. Angus Stewart regarding the "bible-based two witness rule" claims made by the Watchtower at the ARC
by EdenOne inbesides the email message to mr. angus stewart that i have posted on the other thread, i have send him the following email regarding the two-witness rule and the claims it can't be changed because it's "bible-based":.
"dear mr. angus steward,.
i would like to draw your attention to another aspect of the arguments presented by the leadership of the jehovah's witness, in this case regarding the "two witness rule" and the duty to report to secular authorities.

Yes, well written.
The 2 witness rule is cherry picked by the society.
They try and say it applies for a serious crime like child abuse, while conveniently ignoring it if someone is suspected of APOSTASY! (A far greater crime it would seem)
Just the slightest whisper that someone no longer feels the society has "the truth", and that stuff will spread like wildfire, and be the subject of "marking / warning" talks in the hall!
So much for proof, or 2 witnesses!
