You Can Encourage An Inactive Christian!
by Yesu Kristo Bwana Wangu inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/jw-meeting-workbook/april-2017-mwb/meeting-schedule-apr10-16/encourage-inactive-christian/.
this is part of the clam meeting this week.. how contradictory is it?.
first, they instruct people to avoid inactive ones and to shun them and to treat them the same as da'd or df'd ones, .

Memorial - from disgusted to feeling sorry
by UBM101 ini went with my husband tonight for the first time.
it was pretty appalling how they lied about the 144k and everyone else.
then passing the wine and bread for nothing.

Good point punk! They did indeed say that prior to the 2014 memorial!
"This may well be the last memorial prior to the end of this system". It was in the Kingdom Ministry.
They also said that in a KM back in the 1970's....

You will be with me in Paradise
by AmyWatson916 ini'm reading a book called, "what to do when they knock".
it points out that on page 36 of the 2014 "what does the bible really teach?
" book jesus promises the criminal, "you will be with me in paradise.

Interesting question!
Using the official Witness reasoning, only those who die AFTER Jesus died would have the opportunity to go to heaven as one of the 144000.
So, therefore, IF that criminal was suddenly blessed with being chosen to be part of that exclusive group, then he could ONLY gain entrance to heaven IF he died a second or two AFTER Jesus died...

Do JW's believe in the concept of neutrality? Apparently not!
by doubtfull1799 in“all of us have a choice.
either we serve jehovah or we serve satan and his demons.
how wise it is to serve jehovah!” - spirits of the dead, p23-4.

I had never thought of that before!

To those taking a stand and not attending the Memorial tonight
by doubtfull1799 ini salute you.
many of you, like me, are probably under enormous emotional pressure, whether from a lingering false sense of guilt from your indoctrination, whether from "invitations," and assumptions that you'll naturally be coming, or whether from outright emotional blackmail, even begging and pleading.
i am thinking of you whoever you are, all of you, even though i don't know you in person.

Nathan, that was a little unnecessary.....
For those who have recently taken a stand, this is a big deal.

Teach young ones to use analytical thinking in little things like comparing the claims on products at the supermarket... (eg "why does the packet claim "new and improved" or "why does it say "100% natural" etc)
If they can learn to question things like that, then slowly they can apply such skills to larger issues of faith...

From memory, wasn't it true that last year the society was a MONTH incorrect for the date of the memorial??

"Abuse of free will" - an Oxymoron?
by doubtfull1799 inthe society loves to talk about how adam and eve abused their gift of free will.
doesn't free will mean the freedom to choose?
how can exercising that freedom to choose then be classed as abusing the gift?
-
stuckinarut2
That is cool Rainbow_Troll!
I am not surprised to hear a witness use such an expression! It is "free-will" in anything except the things that really matter...
