why would watchtower sue stratton ohio, and then laud it over and over in their books?

the town doesn't even have 300 people, why would they pick on such a small town.

they are promoting it so much at this week's meeting.

Why is the approval of family so important?

one of the reasons people remain pimo is fear of losing family.

those that are disfellowshipped and shunned regularly comment about how devastated that they have lost the approval of their parents.. when i respond to emails from people saying how difficult it is being estranged or looked down on by their parents, i would like to say that over time they will come to terms with it, except i not sure that people ever do.

i cannot shake that feeling either.

There is another way to look this issue .

The family that do the shunning are actually missing out on all that we can provide them and all that we can contribute to enhance their lives. ie, it is actually THEIR loss. They miss out on us, and all we are.

Rather than allowing ourselves to be the 'victims', we should see those family as the victims. Yes, victims of the GB control.

Dont stop calling or seeing those family members. Keep calling, and keep showing up and acting normal. If we stop contacting them, we play by the rules of the society, and give power to their corrupt policies.

i remember a brother making the above statement in regards to an elderly sister who had passed.

he stated we don't mourn or even visit grave sites because we have a hope that jah will resurrect the dead.

it seemed really creepy at the time, hell, even jesus wept when lazarus died.

I realised at the age of 39 that I had never actually grieved or felt genuine sadness at the loss of anyone.

Yes, because of witness culture and "protocol", I never cried or allowed myself to mourn a loss.

That changed when I awoke to the truth about the truth, and the reality that this is our life NOW (not some utopian panda patting paradise)

My uncle's funeral was the first time I was at a funeral that didn't follow the usual prescribed witness script. It was truely a cathartic experience. Sad, yes, but cathartic and therapeutic

it may be feasible to some to accept the bible's assertion that the first humans were tempted to pursue independence from god, especially since they were created in his image and he is independent from any authority.

it really is mind blowing when we think about it : witnesses have no problem with a deity who will use violence in order to end violence?!?!.

armageddon will be gods war to kill billions of people...because it shows his love?.

Fair point chook.

But here we are talking about God supposedly violently killing every person who doesn't abide by his "earthly organisation" and become a witness.

That includes young children and babies....who are hardly violent or dangerous sinners or criminals.

I have often wondered why those wicked angels only took on male bodies. Surely some could have tried being a female?

Also, as powerful as the sexdrive is, surely life as a mighty and powerful spirit being is more wonderful? I mean, I have no desire to live as a frog...as human life is far superior in my mind....

You make a good case for the hypocrisy of "god" himself as he fails once again to carry out his own directions!

This reminds me of the other fantastic point you made a little while back, where you showed how those who are appointed as MS or Elders had to "preside over his own household in a fine manner" and "have children in full subjection and obedience"

Yes, "God" also failed in this point! His own children rebelled (satan , adam, eve), and yet "God" still gets to be "appointed"....
