Explanation please on the change of the term "worldly"
by careful ini've picked up from several replies to posts here that the org has stopped using the term "worldly" as it applies to people.
this must have happened after i left.
would someone be so kind as to explain the "rationale" behind this shift?

Why pigs???
by stuckinarut2 inwhy did jesus supposedly cast the demons into a herd of pigs?.
(matt 8 / luke 8).
and, how were there so many demons inside one man, that when "released" by jesus, it took a whole pack of pigs to contain them??.

The more we reason on such odd passages of the bible, the more crazy it sounds...and smacks of the uneducated and superstitious people of that period of time!

Listening to the meetings from the perspective of a "newly interested" person?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering how many others (when you were still in the org) would try and listen to the meeting programmes from the perspective of a newly interested person visiting for the first time?.
i know that i did this, and most times i did, i found it disturbing!
it was not just the "in-house" language and terminology that was odd, but also the actual doctrines, and method of 'teaching' that was odd!.

I would wonder to myself "Why does a newly interested person actually sit through this and not find it strange, or just leave??"
Thoughts?

Went to a sunday meeting Waterbury, Connecticut, yawnfest x100
by Brokeback Watchtower inwell went on a vacation cross country for 10 days to see relatives, and so decided to drop in on my old kingdom hall to get a look at some old friends i haven't seen in more the 27 years.. came in around 1:15 pm middle of the public talk wearing tight fitting jeans and an old sweat shirt, and sat down in front of person i served with as an elder.
the talks was so boring i can't remember a word of it, i can only recall that it was very disjointed with tremendous leaps in logic, so that my mind could not and would not follow the speaker.
watchtower study was a complete brain shrinking repeat of putting on the new personality or something, with the conductor fishing for baby food comments where none of the 3 or 4 young ones gave any comments only the hard core braindead were answering.

I did email my father the official findings report last week from the Australian Royal Commission , and said calmly to him "oh I thought you might like to be aware of these official governmental findings so that when the Elders school addresses the need for reform in dealing with such cases, you would have the details close to hand..."
He didn't bite....
