2nd Pedo In My Old Congregation Has Been Discovered

i learned today that a "brother" from my former congregation has been arrested.. the rumor mill was in overdrive (you know how the jws are), my ex-wife and a pimo member filed me in just an hour ago.

both gave 95% the exact details so i take it as legit.... when i used to do sound desk there was a brother in his late 40s/early 50s who for some reason always had a tan and always sat at the back of the hall.

he was a loner, i used to feel sorry for him so would make small talk while i was setting up the sound desk and he was sitting there.

So, has anyone reported this to the police?

PE, maybe you could encourage your wife to report it. This may be a way to help her see the inaction of the elders. Make her see her 'community responsibility' to simply report what she has heard, and let the police do the investigating. It may not be true, or there may be some more to the story...but either way, it is the job of the police to investigate these tings...NOT some group of internal elders.

When did "The Last Days" of JW Organization Begin? Will This Generation See It End?

a growing discourse on this forum has been around what "the end" means.

as jws, many here spent varying proportions of our lives waiting for the end when an unsettling realization was that the end that approaches is more likely to be from old age than the world's end.

through the centuries, group after group, has claimed it has "inside" information on the end of the world, drawing in the desperate-for-comfort like moths to flames.

Well, if we all remember just how QUICKLY the "modern" org was transformed!? Here on this very forum, only 4 years back, we all enjoyed doubting the rebranding of the Watchtower logo with jw.org.

When the directive to put those jw.org. signs on every kingdom hall was issued, many here laughed at the concept.

Only 5 years back, we all had no idea of the monster that the actual site would become. We all had no idea about the Caleb and Sophia cartoon propaganda cartoons, or the other weird stuff.

So, what will the society be like in 2027?? Who knows?? It will depend on the whim of the GB members at the time. And those GB will be made up of new men...as the old ones will be mostly dead by then I would say...

Watch this space...

November 2017 JW broadcasting HYPOCRISY!

ok...so i am on a bit of a temper tantrum rant here...but if anyone has (endured) watched this month's broadcast, you will know what i mean!.

i have only watched 20 mins so far, and the hypocrisy is mind blowing.

they dare to go on about how thoroughly they research the material produced, so that errors are prevented etc.. for instance, the actually say how they ensure that a scientist is not misquoted, or that an "evolutionist" is not inaccurately quoted to make it seem like his comments are different to his intentions.

It sounds like it will only play into the cliched view that the GB portrays of all who leave "the truth". They become "bitter and lost"

The intentions are no doubt sincere, but it probably won't even make an impact on the society...

They give "lessons" on looking critically at material to ensure it is ACCURATE!

Seriously? Are they that BRAZEN as to dare do this? The GB / Society have no freedom of speech here!

Have they forgotten the scripture at Romans 2:21 "if you teach others, do you not teach yourself? You the one preaching against stealing, do you steal?"

Im sure others can include some specific points. Please add to this thread.

one of my jw sons seems to be putting pressure on his non-jw brother apparently to scare him into accepting the troof and start coming to meetings.

wild statements like our topic title, which i know are not supported at jw dot org, have been made to my non-jw son several times over the past year or so.

while i haven't been privy to the actual phone conversations i tend to believe that the jw son is being pressured by the local elders to cut ties with the non-jw since their conversations seem to degrade into arguments -- therefore tending to weaken the jws faith in wt teachings.. either my jw son is lying about what i would call rogue teachings (and this would disappoint me greatly) or he is in some close knit clique in his congregation which has secretly chosen to go rogue on certain wt issues.. based on many of the recent posts here about drastic money and wt organization problems this could be a sign of pending splits of certain congregation members.. what do you think?

Even then , before I had fully awoken, I thought he was going off-script.

this is my story in a nut-shell.

i hope some of you can relate.

if you can..i would love to hear from you.. i have been crushed and heartbroken more times than i can recount by a religion that claims to be based totally on love and mercy and most of that harm has come from the so called "shepherds" who or are supposed to lovingly take the stray lambs in their arms and lead them gently back to safety.

Thank you for sharing your story. Please be assured that this community is made up of people who are empathetic and caring. We are no longer held captive by the harsh viewpoints and judgemental attitudes that often characterise JW culture.

Your self-worth and self esteem is valuable, and you need to build this up. Recognise that you are a valuable person, and that regardless of what has happened to you, you have the right to be happy. Please remind yourself of that.

Also, as has often been said, "the windscreen is bigger than the rear-view mirror". So focus on what is ahead of you rather than what has happened in the past. Yes, take lessons from the past. Acknowledge the hurt it has caused. But now you have the opportunity to build a life that is free of the FOG (Fear Obligation Guilt) of your JW past.
