Thanks smiddy3!
I will ensure we record this!
a program is to be aired on abc tv tonight called : "undeniable :the advocates and agitators who fought for justice" to be shown at 9:30 pm aust.eastern daylight saving time in victoria.. while it doesn`t show anything from what i can gather, about jw`s ,it mainly concentrates on the catholic and anglican churches and if you want to make a comparison the abuse in the jw`s pales by comparison as an institution .. having said that their were some/one champions of jw child sex abused that made sure by their arguments that the jehovah witness religion should not be excluded from this royal commission as they wern`t initially included in this enquiry.. the full/final report of this arc is to be handed down later this week..
Thanks smiddy3!

sometimes i have expressed a longing for jw organization to tone down its rhetoric and become, well, nicer and more loving.
i have not been alone in my hope.
some posters have even said that if a wave of kindness washed over jw organization and, say, the shunning doctrine was modified (e.g., left up to the individual's conscience without fear of retribution from elders), they'd go back.
Brilliant!
Yes, bring it all on!
More tightpants style rants too please! More homophobic rants....If that stuff doesn't scream lunacy, then nothing does...
in this episode we explore mike’s story of being shunned at an early age while still living at home, and how even today although he isn’t officially “shunned” he’s still treated that way as an inactive jehovah’s witness.
not all who are “shunned” are disfellowshipped or disassociated from the organization.
shunning is in the dna of jehovah’s witnesses, something that really marks them as a high control religion, also known as a cult.. .
Thank you sir!!!
Always love your work!
I so want to share our story soon....soon......
i know of some congregations and even circuits that have already met this fate recently.
are there any more to come for certain?.
I personally know of two KHalls in Australia that are being sold off, and the congregations around those areas are being amalgamated into others...
Halls that were only recently renovated too! (With funds from the local witnesses! I bet they would like their money back!?)
i was just thinking about how the gb / society hates it when people like us dare to speak up or mention anything negative about the society.. they try and demean us, or colour witnesses view of anyone who leaves - especially if we speak up!
we know the sort of rhetoric they have been spewing forth over the last few years.. but the gb needs to face the fact that we speak out because we have been trained to do so by them!
they have used scriptural passages to encourage us repeatedly to "preach with boldness"(acts 4:29-31 eph 6:19).
Ah yes sparrow! Unfortunately I know all the ones who man the carts near me....so I look forward to a time when I see a cart in an area I dont know....
that is a question i want to calmly and politely ask a witness next time i interact with them.
perhaps at a cart.. "the bible says we should be humble.
may i ask, are you humble enough to admit you were wrong on things you believe?
Great point wake me! Witnesses are there to preach AT, not have an actual discussion.
am i the only one who can't reconcile new light with the light gets brighter?
if it matters at all.
i bring a candle into my house and light it.
Yes. Good point.
Welcome to our community too by the way! Nice to have you here!
The very notion of "light getting brighter" is ridiculous. Especially so if the thing illuminated actually changes. The GB have changed things so much that doctrines of the past are not even a shadow of what they once were!
To expand on your great illustration, if lighting a new candle inside your house makes your furniture change from a lounge into a fridge, then there is a bigger issue at play!

But the GB needs to face the fact that we speak out BECAUSE we have been TRAINED to do so by them! They have used scriptural passages to encourage us repeatedly to "preach with boldness"(Acts 4:29-31 Eph 6:19). To "save people" . To "preach urgently" (2 Tim 4:2) etc.
The bible speaks of TRUTH as being a "fire within our bones" (Jer 20:9) that spurs us to share TRUTH!
So when the GB or JWs in general object to us sharing TTATT (The truth about the truth), it really is their own fault!

Fair enough. Good points.
Witnesses are so arrogant and CONVINCED they could not possibly ever be wrong...so I suppose its a moot point.
I will try it one day though with ones I know. Ones I was once close friends with!... Very mildly and very calmly, in a respectful and sincere manner...

"The bible says we should be Humble. May I ask, are you humble enough to admit you were wrong on things you believe? Would you be humble enough to examine this?"
I wonder how that would go?
Then introduce one or two points only to them about the Societies beliefs or practices...
Thoughts?
