for general information i am now 19 years old, and living by myself.

for the past 1 year (more like 1.5 years) i have been quietly fading out of the hypocrisy of this organization, but since i still live in the town i grew up in it has been hard, and filled with different challenges.

Thanks for posting those links and the scans of the letters!

I randomly looked through several of those, including the one from the Circuit Overseer, and others from the Branch office, and what did I notice?? Of course: NO WHERE did the society or its representatives direct that the Law Authorities be informed of these issues!

Does the Society simply not get it?? Are they that insular and self-righteous to neglect telling the Police about these matters?

They are clearly more concerned about keeping their "reputations" in tact, and "protecting Jehovah's name"...But failing to see that their inaction is actually having the OPPOSITE effect! It brings reproach on them!

I want to give full praise and credit to whoever revealed these letters!! Well done and Thankyou to this brave and honest hearted person!

Yes, it is very comforting to see that someone within the inner circle at Bethel must have leaked these documents!!

May they continue to follow the promptings of their conscience and bring these things to light! The GB has shown callous disregard for doing the right thing, but someone in Bethel however is showing their humanity and honesty!

Bravo whoever you are! Keep it up!

"May I have a copy of the 'Child-safegaurding policy' letter please?"

so as we all know, the australian royal commission has it on record that a "child safegaurding policy" document was produced hurriedly at the tail end of the australian royal commission.. the commission was told by the society representatives that this would be "freely available to all congregants and interested people".. the commission quizzed the brothers as to whether it would "be freely handed out, or simply handed to those who requested it".

either way, it was to be freely available.. so imagine the surprise of one our fellow faders who attended a kh yesterday to ask for a copy!.

she politely and respectfully asked the brother at the door for a copy.

I think that the reason for the request, may have been twofold: 1) to actually get a copy 2) To see if ones at a cong level were even aware of it and the directions of the ARC (it seems they are still quite ignorant)

Now, as for meeting with them in an official meeting?

DO NOT ATTEND! Can I be a little more clear? DO NOT ATTEND!

You have stated your points already with the other 2 elders. You do NOT need to go into an environment that is already biased against you, and that has an outcome already chalked up.

You owe NO EXPLANATION for your life to anyone.

Please remember this quote: "THE ONLY POWER PEOPLE HAVE OVER YOU, IS THAT WHICH YOU ALLOW"

Yes, by all means, maintain your Dignity, Poise and Grace. Be polite, but do NOT get drawn into a conversation. Simply reply something like "Thanks, but I trust that you will respect appropriate boundaries. Take care, and have a lovely day"

If they push the point, mildly repeat the same sentence.

a few months back i spoke to an old friend of mine raised "around the truth", but never baptized and wanting nothing to do with the wt.

he is very hip to what is going on in the wt however.

The campaign to flood the govt WAS "Extreme"

The fact that 95% of witnesses simply did as they were told by their leaders WAS an"Extreme" demonstration of such "High control"

Really, was poking a Bear really a wise idea GB? Did the tactic work? Did it spare your flock from being banned? Did it protect your assets?

Or GB, did you simply antagonise your foe??

Will #metoo have an affect on forcing changing attitudes at Watchtower?

despite decades of the feminist movement, watchtower's attitude of woman being inferior has changed little, with pauline sexism justified as inspired, on the basis that women are lesser emotionally, intellectually and physically.

jehovah's witnesses seem to accept this with little resistance.

is there anything about the #metoo movement that may wake followers up?

Yes, good point Jwfacts.

Those women who do find the Jw and biblical misogyny to be outdated and unacceptable, will leave the Society.

Those that stay under such an oppressive and abusive yoke are either incapable of seeing such behaviour as wrong, or have been so conditioned into thinking it is "normal".
