THEY act like the ones who are hurt??!!
by stuckinarut2 init really amazes me when jws act like we are hurting them!.
many of us have found that if we stop associating with them for valid reasons, they act all upset and hurt that we would be "so cruel as to limit our association or cut them off".
i know of friends here on the forum who have been told by parents that they "will shun them if they leave jehovah" , and yet when the shoe is on the other foot and our awake friends shun them first, the parents cry and bemoan the situation and say how "cruel it is to deprive them of their company".

"Thanks for the thought" - how the religion robs people of normal humanity
by stuckinarut2 inso as you all know, my wife and i are not officially df or da.. a small event happened this week that i have to share!.
a family that we were really close to (dinners and catch ups several times a month , go out socially often, play sport together, helped them through tough times, like uncle and aunty to their kids, etc).
the wife's father died.

The wife's father died. We heard about it from the husband. So in our true fashion, we took flowers around. They were not home, so we left them at the door and sent a text message "so sorry to hear about the sad news. Lots of love ___"
NO reply from her. One late text from him "thanks for thought"
Now, we didn't want a song and dance or praise for it, but the level of coldness did strike me as really sad. Whatever gossip and slander the elders have spread about us must be at such a level that even an act of kindness like this is treated with contempt and suspicion.
But, its not a cult or anything.....

Yes, it amazes me (and yet it shouldn't be surprising) just how mentally disturbed witnesses are!
My wife and I are not DF or DA, just faded officially. However, we have heard through the grapevine that "they have turned their backs on us"
(ok, so as you all know, we ARE proudly apostate. But officially, there is no reason Jws should act so hurt. No elders have ever taken action)

by john.prestor inhey guys, i'm working on a paper about exploitation amongst jehovah's witnesses ( i'm also preparing a book about jehovah's witnesses and interaction ritual theory, and another paper about jehovah's witnesses and discrimination against women).
i'm trying to calculate as exact figures as i can concerning how much bethelites are paid.
does anyone know the monthly stipend as of now?

his wife, a spiritually strong person, had no problem answering the questions, but robert found himself constantly embarrassed, not knowing what to say.".
there is no indication of how she fits the template of a spiritual person other than she can answer bible trivia.
