In the months or years since leaving the Organization, how do you think you have progressed as a person?
(Or if you have regressed too I guess?)
What aspects of personal development are you happy with?
What can you share to help others here?

i live in a very rural part of the northeastern united states.
after 9 years of waiting, the local witnesses are getting their new kingdom hall.
it is being built on a back road next to a sandpit.
And, here is the Society's very own example of the new "fast-food" style KHalls:

alright, many of you know me from the this jw life and shunned podcasts along with my inane ramblings on here.
i just made my first video and put myself out there on youtube along with my podcast episodes that are on there now.
i put my podcast audio up on there as videos and new people are subscribing and finding it through that.
Every new video and activist helps expose the cult more and more!
I say, everyone should take the plunge in some way, shape or form!
Thanks for the inspiration Mike!
two things i noted at this year’s rc.
1) the new teaching with respect to matthew 25:45 which was applied equally to the rank & file jw.
this teaching is also found in the watchtower study for last sunday.. then he will answer them, saying: ‘truly i say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of these least ones, you did not do it to me.. 2) the new armageddon video which was a big shift.
Oh the manipulative propaganda keeps getting spewed out.
Thanks for the thread lastmanstanding
how often have we heard some sort of sensationalist urban legend as jws?.
here is an example i was told as a kid:.
the experience of a sister who knocked on a door and was greeted by a big fierce looking man- intimidating and mean.
Oh wow!
SO MANY of these "Experiences" have been heard by people in other religions over the years!
I listen to lots of Podcasts, and many Mormons report these every same "experiences"!
The one about the "groceries on the back porch", or the "receiving of exactly the sum of money needed to pay for gas that day", right down to the one about "Angelic protectors standing behind a sister"
So, I wonder now, how many COs or DOs back in the days before the internet simply "Borrowed" these "experiences" and used them during their grandstanding assembly talks!?!?!
im not sure if anyone has posted this before?
(sorry if so).

i have noticed a pattern of regurgitated excuses and justifications used by the average jw if the topic of child abuse gets raised:.
"oh but jehovah's organization is setting the lead in how to handle this issue".
"why are you getting so hung up on this one issue?
Exactly Steve2!
You are spot on.

Cheers buddy!
Great work!
Thanks for sharing.
not quite a week ago, @lost in the fog created a thread entitled: do you have this illness?.
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5187824140681216/do-you-have-this-illness.
in my year of being on this forum, i have browsed many a disillusioned thread of ex-jehovah’s witnesses expressing similar symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder when detailing their awakening - my own story included.
You make some great points JP.
Thanks for your input on this thread.
It is thread discussions like this that make this forum a refreshing and mentally stimulating place to hang out together!
someone on jwtalk has shared their convention notes (for those interested in a jw perspective).
jehovah’s people will experience hardships, so reliance on god is paramount!.
prayer is essential and vital for our spiritual well-being.
Oh those notes brought back memories...like finger nails down a chalk-board.
