YES!
I have noticed the same thing .
The few remaining JWs on my social media feed are mad for this day!
It is really odd...
as has been mentioned, jws on social media seem to go overboard for the whole sibling day bandwagon, like they're so thrilled to participate in a holiday of sorts that hasn't yet been explicitly forbid that it's pathetic.
so, it's okay to honor your brother and sister on a certain day, but it's wrong and pagan to honor your father and mother on a certain day, something that the bible specifically says to do?
has anybody ever called them out on this, or seen someone else do it?

"how do we appeal more to the 'youths' ...".
"... i know - we'll do a religious rap !".
"kids love that shit ...".
Is this what we can expect from the next JWBroadcasting music clip?? hahaha

OH MY %&*^!!!
WTF??
this is my first post.
i am physically in and mentally out.
well i will not be offering a tl/dr version as that would be too difficult and it would also be an oversimplification of how i got to see the man behind the curtain.. my story begins at the 2016 regional convention of jehovah's witnesses.
Welcome !
You are with friends here. We totally understand the path you have walked - we have been down such similar paths ourselves.
Please feel comfortable to be yourself here.
Much love and support!
ok, so i played the game of putting on my jw apologetic cap for a moment, and thought of how a devout jw could rationalize this whole liquor buying situation.. they could say:.
"this actually proves that jehovah is guiding his organization!!
he was bringing this activity of tomo3 to light, and it would also prove to be a loyalty test for all jws, to see if they would be stumbled right out of the truth!".
Or maybe they will just say "That was a photoshopped fake video!"

I know we have all heard JWs rationalize the most ridiculous stuff of the Society...so how is this going to be any different?
Thoughts?
so i noticed this change in the text of the new silver nwt compared to the older nwt at matthew 5:32. old nwt:.
"however, i say to you that everyone divorcing his wife , except on the grounds of fornication makes her a subject for adultery...etc" .
new nwt:.
I was always under the impression that "sexual immorality" was anything outside of normal marriage.
So that is why I think that this wording change seems to allow a greater scope of reasons for divorce if the elders say so?
i found this memorial invitation quite different than the previous ones.
i couldn't find a more recent posting about the invite, so i may be going over old ground.. at first i just looked thru it.
but then on second look, i realized there was more going on than i thought.
Can someone please post the actual pics of the memorial invitation?
i was howling watching cedars latest video of tm111 buying a dozen bottles of scotch ((maccallans scotch).
you can't write this stuff.
right, i'm now off to buy a bottle of maccallans 😂..
Let me tell you, I learned all about alcohol while at bethel!
I never drank before spending 5 years there. (mind you it was also my "youth" years until I was 24, so thats probably normal?)
Many at bethel had home brew kits set up in the tunnels underground, and had secret stashes of drink in their walk in wardrobes...

So this got me thinking about how this seemingly subtle change can now lead to JW's having a changed view?
I can just see a JW spouse who finds out their husband has watched "pornography", and comes to the elders with this scripture. According to the "bible" and JW's definition of "immorality", porn is not allowed.
Or what if someone "engages in masturbation" which is considered to be "immorality" in the eyes of JWs?
Technically, this change in the bible wording could allow room for such reasoning?
In the past it could have been said by an accused "Oh I didnt actually commit "fornication", it was just porn or masturbation".
Thoughts?
