have we ever noticed how witnesses are constantly being told that life is something that needs to be "endured", rather that "enjoyed"?.
life is always so tough, so hard, so difficult in "these last days".
"persecution and trials abound".
So I was just talking with my father who is still very much "in". He was speaking of how "tough things are getting in this system"
Then he was speaking of a friend of his, a witness "brother". This "brother's" wife is not a witness, and my father says "But she is nice though".
I pulled him up and said "why wouldn't she be nice? Why did you draw that negative conclusion that because she was not a witness, that she might not be a "Nice" person!
Mind boggling!
i came across this recent down to earth presentation given by paul grundy.
it's very long but provides a good overview of the jw religion and its dark side.
it was hosted by "sydney atheists" so may not be an ideal link to send to jws.
We were in attendance!
It was a great evening, with between 40-60 there I reckon.
A great mix of people, both ex witnesses and general public. It was a very cathartic opportunity. A chance to see how those in attendance who were never witnesses responded to the strangeness of what life was like for those of us raised as witnesses!
Paul did a very good job, both during his speech and afterward as the large group mingled and chatted.
In fact, the conversations amongst all afterward went on for quite some time... they almost had to kick everyone out!
i went to meeting today and the sister in front of me was upset song 134 now song 139 no longer contains jehovahs name.
they took it out.
i never even noticed .
Now that is interesting!
There is no logical reason why they would REMOVE the name...
i doubt people consider me an apostate but you never know.🤓.

four years ago the watchtower made the following demand.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.
they are not content with obedience and in the upcoming june watchtower they have this to say -15. how does respect for theocratic headship reveal our love for jehovah’s way of ruling?15 what is our response to divinely authorized headship?

I relate to your account and circumstances in many ways.
No doubt you have had an in depth look at www.jwfacts.com ? That site has all the key points of a doctrinal nature, all presented with accurate reasoning and scriptural references. Also, it has many personal stories of ones who have woken up. Many were extremely "in" the organization, and "spiritual" witnesses! (One that comes to mind is Stumpy. His account is great!)
Please feel comfortable to share in the discussions here, knowing that it helps not only yourself, but others too. After all, doesn't the bible speak of "an interchange of encouragement"?
PS, you mentioned "tertiary entrance score" Are you from WA by any chance?
