  Bumped for a new overlapping generation of forum members.

  Prompted by recent discussions with a family member who was again talking about how bad the world is getting, and how "we need Jehovah to act" etc...

  I simply reminded him that in many ways, life is better now than ever before. Imagine living in the Middle Ages?

  I reminded him of the quotes: "Life is 10% of what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it"

  And

  "You can't control everything around you, but you can control your reaction to it"

  its taken a while for this to happen, but the victorian (australia) police have decided there is sufficient evidence to charge cardinal george pell with multiple sexual abuse charges.. .

  Sadly as with many witness relationships and marriages, it's not about choosing the "best person" , but rather just "the best available" (according to witness criteria anyway)

  what is the big deal when you say "good luck with that" or he just had bad luck?

  i have never been a jw, but what is the problem with saying these things?

  my husband was so mad, he went to bed and would not talk to me.

  This is a classic form of religious baggage:

  FEAR

  OBLIGATION

  GUILT

  Once he learns to let go of such silliness, he will start to live his REAL life.

  The spinning blade of a Sword and the 2 Angels guarding the gate....

  for some reason i found myself shaking my head once again in disbelief at the story in genesis.. amongst all things, the very concept of a "flaming sword" spinning around and blocking the "entrance to the garden of eden" is so stupid!.

  do people really believe that as a fact?.

  seriously, swords were not even invented at that time!

  Amongst all things, the very concept of a "Flaming sword" spinning around and blocking the "entrance to the garden of Eden" is so stupid!

  Do people REALLY believe that as a FACT?

  Seriously, swords were not even invented at that time! So how could they use a flaming sword?

  Oh and the society has often used the expression "best Wishes" when signing off letters or even during talks and broadcasts!

  As a child I was told that "wishes" were the same as "luck" and "fortune". Words true Christians should NEVER use!

  I've Just Noticed Something About The "Remember The Wife Of Lot" Video

  maybe you guys got on to this right away, but i've just noticed something about the remember the wife of lot video.. we all know the scene where the judgmental jw dad gives that disapproving look to the girl who has lesbian parents:.

  this look actually appears again throughout the video - but on other jws.

  in the scene where the new brother is out in service with the former co. look at the new brothers reaction to when a "worldly" person knows the former co from work:.
