I did not wake up purely because of such elders, as my awakening was based on logical research and facts. However, once I did start awakening, the way elders treated us was the awesome icing on the cake, the straw that broke the camels back if you like!

For example, what about a young one who is harshly counselled or criticised for their choice of dress or grooming? If dealt with in a kindly way, they may have been encouraged. But if harshly condemned, did this assist them to realise that the society is not following a "Christlike loving manner"?

i was reading a post on here and the poster said she went to the door twice because her mother made her go again when she didn't see her children talk to the man.
the poster said, "at least i got an rv out of it.".
ok, its been a few years, but for the first time i thought of "recreational vehicle" and not "return visit" when i read this.
It is funny just how insidious the expression "The truth" is!
I know ones who still use that term after not attending for decades!
I simply say "The Society" or the "The Religion" when talking to witnesses now...

Yes, the GB have removed all signs saying "Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses" and "Watchtower" and watchtower logos from every location.
Just this week a parent in our community said that his daughter had no ide what KFC stood for! She laughed at him for saying "Kentucky Fried Chicken". She is mid-teens in age.
So will the next generation (overlapping generation sorry) of witnesses and non-witnesses even know about the society's previous names?
