2 witness rule

i'm gobsmacked.. the 7 rock star popes in warwick know darned well that the 2 witness rule allows child rapists to get away with their crime.. geoff (whacko jacko) jackson was at the australian royal commission and should have seen first hand what a vile man made law the 2 witness rule is.. my question is, why do they still insist on this pervert protecting rule?.

i know it's a highly controlling cult but still...........................stuff my old boots, mate!.

the above is more a rhetorical question.

I posted this comment some time back too about the flawed nature of JW reasoning.

If we came across a person on the street who has been hit by a car and is badly injured, disoriented and in pain, would we walk up to them and say "it is your legal right to call the ambulance if you wish - I wont prevent you from doing so". Then walk away?

No two witnesses existed to that incident...so we "cant get involved"...

Or, if we learned that someone committed murder, would we call Bethel to ask the Service dept how to proceed? Or would we just call the police and leave it in their hands? What is the difference with the crime of child abuse?

So, if the 2 witness rule is the "standard" by which the Society judges things, how would they fare with this:

If someone punched ToMo3 in the face and no second witness observed it, did the punch really take place??

no pictures of Kingdom Hall remodels???

i'm following an old friend on instagram who's an uber elder and he does lots of work on kh's and has gone to warwick on his own dime to help with the construction.

on his instagram post he says " i can't post pictures of the kh remodel but i can post pics of jack daniels that i had afterwards" or some such.

why aren't they allowed to take pics of remodels?

we all are hearing of the trend right now to ¨downsize¨ the congregations...ie... eliminate by combining, in order to blah blah blah... .

here is what you didnt know: every time a congregation is dissolved, for whatever reason, including merging or dispersing, wt makes money!

2nd Pedo In My Old Congregation Has Been Discovered

i learned today that a "brother" from my former congregation has been arrested.. the rumor mill was in overdrive (you know how the jws are), my ex-wife and a pimo member filed me in just an hour ago.

both gave 95% the exact details so i take it as legit.... when i used to do sound desk there was a brother in his late 40s/early 50s who for some reason always had a tan and always sat at the back of the hall.

he was a loner, i used to feel sorry for him so would make small talk while i was setting up the sound desk and he was sitting there.

And there were two cases in the congregation we last attended as well. The elder body didn't report either.

In one case it was one elder who went contrary to the rest of the body and made the perp report himself by driving him to the police station! That elder was viewed as eccentric and mocked by the other elders.

In the other case, the family reported the crime to the police, and were harassed by the elders and belittled for doing so!

the GB's coup of the FDS

i believe the gb's takeover of the fds was an illegal coup - not illegal relative to the laws of land, but illegal according to jw "laws" or doctrine.. according to jw doctrine, the fds is god's channel of communication between heaven and earth.

before the coup, the fds was defined to be all the anointed on earth, and the gb was part of that group and merely the spokesman for the group - individual gb members having no more authority than non-gb members of the fds.. however, a few years ago, the gb, independently of the other members of the fds, decided that it alone was the fds.

that, to me, was an illegal overthrow of the body (fds); it was a coup.. suppose the u.s. president decided that he has all power, and that he removed the powers of the u.s. congress.

So, has anyone reported this to the police?

PE, maybe you could encourage your wife to report it. This may be a way to help her see the inaction of the elders. Make her see her 'community responsibility' to simply report what she has heard, and let the police do the investigating. It may not be true, or there may be some more to the story...but either way, it is the job of the police to investigate these tings...NOT some group of internal elders.

When did "The Last Days" of JW Organization Begin? Will This Generation See It End?

a growing discourse on this forum has been around what "the end" means.

as jws, many here spent varying proportions of our lives waiting for the end when an unsettling realization was that the end that approaches is more likely to be from old age than the world's end.

through the centuries, group after group, has claimed it has "inside" information on the end of the world, drawing in the desperate-for-comfort like moths to flames.

Well, if we all remember just how QUICKLY the "modern" org was transformed!? Here on this very forum, only 4 years back, we all enjoyed doubting the rebranding of the Watchtower logo with jw.org.

When the directive to put those jw.org. signs on every kingdom hall was issued, many here laughed at the concept.

Only 5 years back, we all had no idea of the monster that the actual site would become. We all had no idea about the Caleb and Sophia cartoon propaganda cartoons, or the other weird stuff.

So, what will the society be like in 2027?? Who knows?? It will depend on the whim of the GB members at the time. And those GB will be made up of new men...as the old ones will be mostly dead by then I would say...
