  Unbelievable KMS example

  i've been to the kingdom ministry school (for elders) recently and can report that it is mostly the usual mix of cliches and platitudes.

  several letters where basically just read through one line at a time.

  one point early on though almost made me laugh out loud.

  Oh this stoopid shunning thing!!

  warning - vent ahead....... so, my father (still very much in jw but who has at least had the decency to still keep in contact with me and hubby and to show interest in why we aren't attending and respect where we are at) is in intensive care at a local hospital and is intubated and sedated with some serious health issues.

  i'm next of kin so i get all the phone calls from the hospital.. so, the rest of the "family" has cut me off because we are inactive and because the ever-active jw gossip grapevine has rumoured with a sibilant slithy hissy voice: "apossstassssy" is the cause of our inactivity.. whatever.. but now i've had to contact said "family" with the news about my father and what is going on....... so, dad's sisters answer my calls and manage to act and conduct themselves with a degree of decorum.. my sister on the other hand - well, she doesn't deign to answer my calls and texts for most of the day.

  i push the issue tonight and insist on speaking to her when my brother-in-law answers the call.

  And, the objections unstuck's sister made were entirely innacurate too!

  She has grossly got the timing of matters wrong, and accused her father of being in a drugged stupor. All of which is just not correct!

  Yes!

  Simply preposterous!

  The sister has never once put her hand in her pocket to help financially. Never once visited her father when was on his death bed.

  Never phoned her sister to discuss matters. Never even answered the multiple calls made to her.

  Not shown any interest in her father's care...and now wants to object to the outstanding steps taken and care procedures implemented by her sister!

  Let me tell you all, Unstuck has been modest in the reciting of all she has been doing (while also holding down a 70 hour a week full time job mind you). This for a man who has not been a great father over the years. However he is very appreciative of all that is now being done for him.

  i was inspired by @lastmanstanding to check out the jan 15 1892 watchtower and came across this little gem from the same article covering russell's trip to europe.

  i think this will be particularly interesting to the aussies here considering our ongoing debate about the treatment of immigrants and refugees.

  the people are generally intelligent, industrious, busy and comfortably clothed and fed—far beyond our previous suppo sitions.

  Yes, it is simply mind blowing to see that we are far more advanced as humans nowadays, and yet the Society would have us believe things are getting worse each year prior to the big day of Armageddon!

  Why do we rightly find such racist outbursts as offensive now? If the idea is that the world is more degraded, then our views should be getting worse right?

  i had no idea that the whole 'museum' (if you can call it that) was so big.

  the mind numbing gilead graduation part 1/part 2 will now replace the usually fast moving, lets get this family worship over with, monthly broadcasts several times a year.

  i have the first volumes of the watchtower from the 1800's to the 1900's.. .

  i will highlight vol.

  2 january 15, 1892 to help the reader understand the truth regarding russell and his supposed appointment as, what the watchtower this year referred to, "he certainly was that minister" ...making vague reference to his being called "the laodicean minister" (found on his tombstone).
