  I Got Very Stange JW Doorknocker Yesterday

  i had an ex-jw uncle of mine visiting me yesterday from another part of the country.

  i usually only ever see him at weddings and funerals but we keep in touch on facebook.

  we were catching up in my place with his wife when about an hour into the visit there's a knock on my door, this was about 4pm.. strange... the only people who ever knock without calling me first are the postman and my ex-wife.. i open the door and it's a face i recognize from my last congregation.

  Is the average JW sycophantic?

  was just pondering the mindset of the average jw.. would it be appropriate to think that many are sycophants?.

  think of the way they act towards those they preach to.

  or the way they act towards one another in the congregation - especially towards those taking the lead (elders).

  So Sophia is told NOT to seek the praise of people for being successful at using her "god given brain", but is told to picture the heavenly throngs all praising her??

  So, it is encouraging a self-centered view! It distorts JW kids minds to think that the heavenly throngs are focussed on THEM PERSONALLY! How conceited and selfish!

  What happened to the "New World Order"?

  so as a child and youth growing up as a witness, (i'm 43 now) we often heard the expression "new world order".. the society just doesnt use that expression anymore.

  so what was the reasoning behind them amending that expression?.

  Yes, I too have heard the expression used by conspiracy nuts nowdays...so I find it funny that JWs used to use the term so often!
