Welcome Hendrixgrip!
It is so nice to have you here, and to see that you guys are now enjoying the REAL life!
Lots of love to you!
hi, this is my long overdue introduction.
i’ve been visiting this site since probably around 2011. in that time, i’ve taken a lot from these discussions and never contributed anything.
i’m not sure that i have much to contribute these days because i just don’t pay too much attention to wt land.

wt study october 2018. maintain inner peace despite changing circumstances.
lloyd and alexandra learn that they have been reassigned to the field, they at first felt sad.
after all, they had been serving at bethel for over 25 years.
As someone who personally knows the couple mentioned in the paragraph "lloyd and alexandra" , I can confirm that they are a lovely couple. Very cool in fact. I always liked them from when I was at Bethel Australia with them.
I wish them well.
In fact, I hope that this has helped them to wake up and see the REAL world outside of Bethel, and that they adjust well.
I also hope that this makes them look critically at the "truth"!
I welcome their friendship if they can wake up from the cult indoctrination.
as we all know, this org has metamorphosized from one ugly creature to another continuously since it's inception.
but more so it seems in the last 30 years.. i got to thinking what my dad would think if he were to be brought to life for 5 mins to see the way things are now.
how would he even react?.
Great thread PE!
Yes, your father, and so many other old timers would not even recognise this religion anymore!
If they were "resurrected" back now, they would think it was a completely different religion! Certainly not "the truth"!
For those old timers still in - it is a case of "frog in boiling water" analogy. They dont recognise the changes occurring as they are right in the midst of it as it gradually morphs into something new...
well, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.
during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.
i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.
Yes, that is exactly what happened about 5 years back in our KHall.
I objected to the loss of "our spiritual heritage", and took the box of books out of the trash bin and hid the books under the hall.
This made me curious as to WHY they wanted to remove them? What was the content of those books that were once "spiritual food from Jehovah"?
Then once I started reading the content...well...wow! "Once revealed, never concealed"
i was approached by two jehovah’s witness elders who handed me a pamphlet advertising the jw .org website.
each man carried a bible and an apple ipad.
they told me that they enjoyed visiting with people about the bible, and asked if i was a bible reader.
The way most interactions at a cart would go is:
JW: "It is nice that you have questions. If you go to JW.ORG you will find more information. Have a lovely day"

this is a great video- well worth watching.. it shows how a multi-level marketing group that peddles psydo-science can be compared to a religious group..

i really like my alexa.
a little creepy at first, but quite interesting.. i asked her if i should attend the assembly day on saturday.. she said "in your case, just go in the morning, walk around, see everyone, then at lunch walk to your car while talking on your cell phone.
then just leave.
Maybe you should be careful of spending time alone with Alexa unchaperoned?
After all, I'm sure some Elders will form a Judicial Committee and come after you!
do people simply leave because the site has given them what they wanted?
are they now infrequent lurkers?.
did they go back to the watchtower?.
I agree that it can be a little unsettling when those whom we viewed as integral or "founding" regular members seem to disappear.
I suppose too that it all depends on when we joined, and who was active during the time period that we relied so much on this community.
Most move on and adjust to life on the outside - free of being all consumed by JW stuff. That can be very healthy.
But its also important to be available to help those who are newly awakening. After all, people were here for us - so we should be here for new ones too.
As others have mentioned too though, there is an ever expanding EXJW activist community online and in the world in general. Many are pursuing their own youtube channels or websites. That is great! It means the wave of momentum is increasing!
Much love to ALL who work hard to expose the toxic nature of the WT / JW.ORG
so we all know that the first few commandments state that "there should be no graven images made" etc.... but, the very "ark of the covenant" had two angelic figures on the lid!
so the very box used to carry the 10 commandment tablets, broke those same laws!!!.
this observation, plus many other hilarious ones is highlighted in the latest episode of the how-to heretic podcast (episode 063).

It is a great listen! Well worth spending the time listening to.
just want to introduce myself and let you know that this site is working and is a big help to lots of jws with doubts.
i've been lurking for about a year, the first couple of times i was frightened and literally shaking visiting an apostate site but it's the only place i can come to for sanity.
the religion has become a nut house.
Welcome!!
This is a great community - you will find fantastic support here.
