  i was howling watching cedars latest video of tm111 buying a dozen bottles of scotch ((maccallans scotch).

  you can't write this stuff.

  right, i'm now off to buy a bottle of maccallans 😂..

  I was quite hesitant to jump on this at first, as technically he is not doing anything wrong per se.

  BUT, then the scriptures at 1 Cor 8 and Romans 14 came to mind:

  "If eating meat or anything else causes my brother to stumble, I will not do it...so as to not make my brother stumble" etc

  SO, surely he lacked wisdom in choosing to buy so many bottles all at once in such an odd way? He removed them from their individual gift boxes, which may mean they are not a gift for others, and he really seemed to know his product when asked.

  So, even though it isnt wrong to buy and consume alcohol, was it the wisest thing for the annointed of Jehovah - christ's brother, to do?

  i am always polite and say hello - although most will not acknowledge me.

  Hey all,

  So I have recently seen quite a few JWs that were former friends in our community. I am always polite and say hello - although most will not acknowledge me. That's cool.

  But it got me thinking about how I can change the dynamics as I say hi.

  Remember, we who have woken up have nothing to be ashamed of or embarrassed about, even though the Society tries to imply that we are all unhappy, or ashamed about "leaving Jehovah's organization"

  So how about this "Hi ___. lovely to see you. I just want to let you know that if you ever realize the reasons why we left, or find out the truth about the truth, I want to reassure you that you have a safe place with us. Please feel free to contact us for support or help - as we know how disturbing it can be and how alone you may feel. We are here for you"

  If said in a sincere and kind manner, it may leave the door open for a further chat ...

  Thoughts?

  i thought this might catch your eye.

  especially if you're a man.. they say thinking about sex is wrong!

  that's biologically impossible.

  Yep, it always amazed me that we were taught that Jehovah created sex and the natural sex drive, but for those of us who were raised as JWs, everything about sex was EVIL and SINFUL, until the night of your wedding?!?!

  So a couple of "good" courting / engaged JWs cant even talk about sex for fear of sinning, yet they are supposed to be ok the night after "I Do" is said?

  No wonder so many JWs are messed up....how do they even know each other's likes and desires...or in fact their own?

  God makes the sex drive, but then says its evil to allow those feelings?

  That's like him making us hungry then not allowing us to eat until we sign some contract at one restaurant....

  my first post - born in but faded 15 years ago before that i was pimo for a number of years.. to put it bluntly the whole jw religion/thing is a crock of shit.

  i sort of figured this out for myself before i faded but reading posts and comments on this forum confirms this.

  heya all!.

  over the last few months i've been doing a lot more support work with people who are waking up and exiting the "truth" .

  i'm part of a team that receives on average 10 new emails, messages or contact through various means, from ones who have just awoken to the realisation that they have been in a cult!.

  Helping your Spouse wake up

  has anyone had success in helping your spouse to wake up?

  i’m thinking of showing my husband jwfacts.

  he is starting to do his own research using wikipedia and google.

  I managed to help my wife wake up.

  The key was to just create and maintain a safe and supportive environment, while very slowly drip feeding small bits of information.

  It is so important to not flood someone - as this can often cause a rebound effect as they recoil in defense of the "truth".

  Keep introducing fun weekend activities, and slowly break the JW routine...
