I remember some others from approximately that era, "Mr Telephone Man", and "More, More, More" (the second by Andrea True). Both a little bit naughty for JW girls to listen to.

Set up a booth next to the washroom door passing out old magazines to those going in, and count each magazine as a 'placement'?

When I was quite young, there was a brother in my congregation with a very beautiful wife. His name was Stephen Taylor Brown, and he owned a business applying stripes and vinyl tops on cars. He had a number of other brothers working for him, including an older fleshly brother of my best friend. He eventually stopped attending meetings, while his wife continued to attend. Some rumors circulated that he was in prison, and eventually, that he died there. I never knew for certain, just felt sorry for his wife. Does anyone know what actually happened?

UFO's If they Are Life From Other Planets Most Likely Benign
by frankiespeakin ini think that if creatures on other planets evolve enought to design space ships, that can move out of thier solar system for the most part are benign.
it don't take to long to see that as we evolve with selfish traits, like us humans we can destroy all life on this planet, because we arn't that concerned about other animals or plants.
and so it seems to me that if a species on any planet were to evolve and get to the point of being able to travel to other solar system and not in the process destroy themselves and the ecosystem which they live that there is a very good chance that they are benign.

I'm not sure if this is correct. Consider the humans who colonized other continents, using their advanced seafaring skills: Aboriginies reached Australia 40,000 years ago, and almost immediately most of the larger animals became extinct. Cro-Magnons reached North America 12,000-15,000 years ago, and almost immediately most of the large animals became extinct. Vikings reached North America 1000 years ago, and immediately had fights with those already living there, some Vikings dying in "Vinland". Vikings didn't get along with native Greenlanders either, and were eventually wiped out. Other Europeans reached North America about 500 years ago, and immediately warred with the inhabitants and enslaved them. The world is just now coming out of this period of "conquer and enslave", even now some religions long for their "God" to conquer the world for them. I sincerely hope that life elsewhere is benign, perhaps something like the culture glimpsed in "Contact".

do you?
by purplebunnyfoofoo in.
believe that gods name is jehovah?
do you still use it as his name?
-
gaiagirl
Not at all. If "God" DID reveal himself to the Hebrews, then the name was pronounced closer to Yahweh than to Jehovah. For that matter, "Jesus" is a Greek interpretation of a Hebrew name which probably sounded more like "Yeshua". I do not use either name.

Would YOU kill someone if you felt they really deserved to die?
by gaiagirl incould be anyone, osama bin laden, oj simpson, pat robertson, someone who personally hurt you or your family, anyone at all.
would you pull the trigger, throw the switch, etc, which would end someones life?
would it make a difference if no one would ever know, versus everyone knowing?

Could be anyone, Osama Bin Laden, OJ Simpson, Pat Robertson, someone who personally hurt you or your family, anyone at all. Would YOU pull the trigger, throw the switch, etc, which would end someones life? Would it make a difference if no one would ever know, versus everyone knowing? I'm not sure if I could, as I wouldn't know how it would affect my own karma. Perhaps one may act as the instrument through which judgement is carried out, but I'm not at all sure I want to be that instrument.

The "Captain", of "Captain and Tennile", used to play keyboard for the Beachboys? Weird Al Yankovic has had the same lead guitar and bass guitar players for over 20 years! (what a great job)

Roots of human family tree are shallow (agrees with the Bible)
by Deputy Dog inlooks like the bible is right after all.. from:.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060701/ap_on_sc/brotherhood_of_man_1with the help of a statistician, a computer scientist and a supercomputer, olson has calculated just how interconnected the human family tree is.
you would have to go back in time only 2,000 to 5,000 years and probably on the low side of that range to find somebody who could count every person alive today as a descendant.

This is very flawed reasoning. The article implies that everyone alive today is descended from people alive 2000 years ago. Yet 2000 years ago, there were already people living in North American (and they had been there for over 10,000 years). So how are Native Americans "descendants" of people in, for example, the Middle East of that time? Further, 2000 years ago, there were already people living in Australia, and they had been there for over 40,000 years. How are Aboriginies "descendants" of people living in the Middle East of that time? Humans who looked exactly like us lived as long ago as 50,000 years, and archaic humans with more robust skeletons and larger brains (Neanderthals) lived 250,000 years ago or possibly more.
