Driving to Meeting

this is a classic !

i am currently disfellowshiped and have been attending the sunday meetings at the kingdom hall for the last 2 years.

i am in my mid to late 40's.

I am currently disfellowshiped and have been attending the Sunday meetings at the Kingdom Hall for the last 2 years. I am in my mid to late 40's. For the last two weeks I was waiting for a traffic light near where I live and this young newly married MS came up behind me. After seeing "me" the light turns green and he quickly proceeds in the other lane passing me at a very fast rate of speed. The speed limit is 35 on this roadway. I accelerate to 50 mph+ and still could not catch him. He had to be going at least 60 mph. There at the meeting he is there..then during the Watchtower this Jack*ss is the Watchtower reader. Of course I cannot say anything to him as I am the "bad" guy and the "evil" one. I am trying to come back to meetings but what do you do when you run into this jack*ss. I am still trying to figure this all out. Yeah he will survive the big "A" I will not. He is the so called " Christian" and I am not. He is in good standing with the "elders" I am not.

Do the elders really know these jak*sses or are they so blind that they will allow anybody in.

those of you on this board who were given the big d -- how did you actually feel at the moment the chairman of the jc that dfd you said those words -- angry -upset -toatl relief -- yipee?

Myself.... I thought if you confess your sins, the elders would show mercy and help you through your problems. I received just the opposite. One elder threw his Bible down on the table and said I should have done this or that!! He was very mad even violent. After a short dismissal they invite you back in and his buddy a jr elder (about 22-25 yr old) said brother xxxx You Are Disfellowshipped. I was looking at him across the conference table and he had glow in his eyes that he wanted me out and he was really happy that He was part of a decision to get me out!!!. It was funny looking back on the situation I called an appeal committee thinking that I would get a different decision. Wrong!! Get this..These guys showed up at the KH,, they meet together first, {the org elders and the 5 new elders), then invite me in to the conference room, I tell my story again, this time to 9 elders...(the original 4 and 5 they brought in from another hall) {Here I thought that the original committee was to be thrown out} They dismiss me (then after 15-30 min) call me back in to inform me that they are going to stand by the decision of the original committee. {Dah...a course you are going to stand by the original committie..You are not going to jeopardize your elder job over a pee-on like me} {What was I thinking?} After the mess, I have a whole new set of friends, I felt really relieved for the first time in a long time, back in school advancing my career, and living a much happier life.

hello ....has anyone ever noticed that among the witnesses there is a certain un-written rules that you must do in order to be accepted and then it may only last a few years.

at my hall it was attend all your meetings, be regular out in service on the weekends, give talks in the school, always praise the elders, have proper dress and grooming.

nobody really cared if you are forced to work meeting nights, going back to school to keep up with your job, not putting in the quota of hours in the field, etc, etc.

Nobody really cared if you are forced to work meeting nights, going back to school to keep up with your job, not putting in the quota of hours in the field, etc, etc. It seems if you are doing the later you are just dropped big time as if you recieved the mark as a bad example. On the other hand someone else could not even be working, padding his time for field service, giving talks that someone else had put together, etc, etc. Yet these individuals get promoted to Ms or Elder over time, are accepted by the established click of freinds, and are treated with respect in the circle of freinds at the hall. In reality these ones are not examples to the flock. What happened to the hospitality that is suppose to be shown to all, the encouragement that everybody needs from time to time. It seems that something is lacking or did I miss the boat in the click network?

Yes it was rather funny as the subject from the Lesson was on Honesty. He was telling how the JW's do not have these issues because they are honest

This is unbelievable. I was at the Watchtower meeting last Sunday and one elder gave an answer that JW 's do not have the problems like the Cathlic church where the preist are molesting boys or the church has to pay huge sums of money out to abused cases. Is he not aware what is happening within the JW organization ? I read all the time of child abuse cases, news reports on message boards, and cases of fraud by "so - called elders" trying to scam elderly members through fake promissary notes, etc. It is hard to justify a comment by a respect person such as an elder. Are they not aware of what is going on in the WT organization or is this a coverup so the rest of the flock does not go astray?

I know it seems there is plenty of substatutions when you come into the truth. You know plenty of freinds over, invited here and there, but over time people go their seperate ways and could care less as to your needs. It seems that you are labeled based on how many meetings you attend, hours of service you put in, and talks you give at the school. Who knows though there could be someone that everyone thinks is great but a real "a**hole in his private life. So over my 26 years my record means nothing, the so called freinds just right me off. I have felt that the WT system all along has many holes in it. Too much central control, individuals move up based on who you know, the lowly get shafted and always get the s**t jobs because they are not in the in click.... but somehow they are good enough to get literature from a depot stop, pickup brother elderly, do errands for so and so, because as you know the elders are too busy with their sheparding work. More later

What happens to a persons record when one gets D'F. I use to attend all the meetings, give #4 talks in the school and turn in 6-10 hours in service every month. I was on vacation and had a relationship with a lady. I went to the elders and confessed my sins and did not return to this coarse of life but the elders put the extreme heat on me and act like they do not want me around, talk to me or have any thing to do with me. Other publishers are the same. Do they forget all the good times we had together or what. I see Jw around where I go to school or where I shop and they rush to avoid me. What happens to my record that I had. Is all lost? Why cannot they see that I am in my 40's and need a female companion and association other than those at the hall. All some will talk about there is their akes and pains. The so called more mature ones just tell me the stock answer just "attend all your meetings and go out in service" Really what happens to my record?

Elder's Visit -- What do you say

i have been d'f for over a year and two elders came by to see me for a breif visit.

what do you say when they arrive ?

are they making an inspection of your place of residence or you ?

I have been D'F for over a year and two elders came by to see me for a breif visit. What are they looking for ? What do you say when they arrive ? Are they making an inspection of your place of residence or you ? Really just what are they looking for. Do you tell them the honest truth or do you tell them what they want to hear. I do not know if someone is trying to catagorize the person like an interviewer for a job. As you know one person can state positive comments and another person might take it as negative critical thinking. So what do you do

does anybody know how long it takes for one to get re-instated if you are not that well liked by the body of elders?

i was disfellowshiped for immorality almost 2 years ago.

with my job and attending college to keep in step with my field of work, i have only been attending the sunday talk & wt meeting every week.

I guess i just wanted to have respect among people and not be treated like some social outcast. When I first was a witness in 1975 I was just a grocery store clerk with the idea that this was enough till Arrmagedon. With competition, wage cuts, etc I found myself not being qualified to get married and exhasted from all the time let alone worrying about your job. Then as time goes on others in the congregation just drop you because they are married and you are single. I was in my late 30's with no one and the "hello" "goodbye" routine at the hall. I started going to single dances which the elders and others looked down on this but they gave me no encouragement as to my needs for a social outlet. My vacation trips I had to do on my own because going with a freinds only vacation was a disaster from the start, but I tried it.Now never again. Then I went to Thailand and met a nice sexy Asian lady that I spent a week with. This was one of the most happiest times of my life. I told a freind who threaten to go to the elders on me so I did and confessed. You know one of the elders in the meeting was so mad at me that he stood up and threw his bible down on the table. After they said they were to D'F me I figured I might get support from another "body of elders" You know what I showed up and they meet with the new body first then they invited me in while I have to explain all over again. A Kangaroo court. They said they will not go against the desion of the 1st body (of course not peer p) Now everyone [witnesses] wrote me off like I am a social outcast, yet I att meetings,service, talks . I just want to have my respect back.

Does anybody know how long it takes for one to get re-instated if you are not that well liked by the body of elders? I was disfellowshiped for immorality almost 2 years ago. With my job and attending college to keep in step with my field of work, I have only been attending the Sunday talk & Wt meeting every week. I have not missed since the 1st of the year. I love to go out dancing on the weekends at worldly dance halls, spend time with my hobby, and study for my Mcse and Cisco training courses. I have not had that many close freinds at the hall. The few close freinds I had will want to rush to go to the elders on you if they do not think you are doing something right no matter how much you do for them or what your record you had in the past. Is it worth the effort or am my wasting my time to try to get back in?
