no they have three congrgations meeting there so the congregation that I am attending ( doing that re-instatement thing you know) has to meet somewhere else

I was attending meeting last Sunday and the Elder conducting made the annoucement that the Memorial for South Congregation will be on Thursday at 7pm but we do not know where yet? You will have to come back tues nite to find out the arrangement. Can you believe this ..I mean is this not the most holy day in the Christian calendar and for JW's the most important day of the year? How is a new person or interested one suppose to know where it is unless he attends the meeting on Tues nite? I thought to myself what have these jackasses been doing if they cannot even secure a place up to a year in advance and let the public know at least a month in advance? What would anyone think if a person is not a JW living in the area and would not go or had arrangements to attend the meeting on Tues nite?? I guess they would be left out like the rest of us.

Was it worth meeting with the judicial committee?
by 24k infor those of you who met with a judicial committee and were subsequently da'd or df'd, was it worth the time and effort?
did the elders let you speak your piece, or were they only interested in hearing that key word or phrase that would allow them to act?
was there genuine interest shown, proboing questions asked, did they really want to know how you felt?

NO if I had to do it all over again I would have not met with them. A brother put pressure on me to go to the elders and tell them what you did and they will help you out.Yaa right I felt like the religous leaders in Jesus day..no help, no encouragement...just you did this and you are D"F. Looking back on the situation you can really see why there is 0% growth. These guys love POWER over others and to throw people out rather than extend mercy and HELP an individual on the road to recovery. You would never see it unless you are faced with a judicial committie. Then the REAL Personality comes out and yes it is a kangaroo court with everything going your way...nothing you say nothing going your way. Also forget about the appeal system that is a big joke in that you are thinking another committiee will favor you WRONG they will side with the orginal body of elders. They have their own position at stake. IT is a POWER hungry group of men that LOVE their POSITION in the ORGANIZATION

Counsel - How many times
by CaptK inwhen you was a jw how many times did you recieve counsel or critisim from the elders.
i can't think of how many times when i gave talks ( 5 min) #4 that i would get counsel.
or going in service you should of said this or use this scripture.

Or going in service you should of said this or use this scripture. Or wanting to stop early, etc, etc, etc. Yet some elder or another publisher would never get the same treatment. If the elders would take as much counsel from others as they dish out how many of these same individuals would still be in the organization ? Any thoughts

i would work during the week then get 2 - 2.5 hours on sat for maybe 8 - 10 hours a month.
others like the elders would always be above that average and a lot of the time some of these elders would skip out on vacation or who knows what on half of the saturdays.

Others like the Elders would always be above that average and a lot of the time some of these Elders would skip out on vacation or who knows what on half of the Saturdays. The assistants would conduct. Then I started putting 2+2 together and figured out what the real story was. IF Mr___Elder conducts his bookstudy then he will get between 4-5 hours a month. IF he studies with his kids another 4-5 hours a month. If he has parts on the meeting or gives a public talk another 1-2 hours a month. So the way I look at it this guy ____Elder can get most of his time of the national average in without even stepping outside his front door. Is my calculations right?
4-5 BK + 4-5 FS + 1-2 MP = 9-12 hours a month without knocking on a single door.

Who actually did the disfellowshipping?

when i was disfellowshipped, i was really looking for a way out, although i did not want to be disfellowshipped, it was easier than making the break on my own.. i appreciate that many are distraught when they get df'd, but was the actual meeting controlled by the elders or you?.
how many were really in control of the meeting and knew that being disfellowshipped was actually a way of ensuring that you would get no more hassle from the elders?

With ME I thought confess your sins and they will be easy on you ...right ? WRONG. Everything of the meeting was one sided and it is on their terms. I first was called in by two elders after I confessed my sins to one elder that was not even on the committie. The Elder in the meeting was so mad at ME that he through his Bible down on the table in front of me. I just sat there listening. Then after they dismissed me for their decision the other elder ( a young 20 yr old that was very green and was put in the eldership through politicing from his father-in-law) told me the dicision with a GLOW in his eyes "YOU ARE DISFELLOWSHIPPED" I could tell he wanted me out of there. I called for a appeal thinking that with a new group of elders they will hear my case and give me a differant verdict. WRONG. The first elder dismissed me and proceded to tell the new elders what the story was and their decision. When I was brought back in to the room I again told MY case to these new elders and the 1st group of elders. Yea about 9 elders this time against me. Then One elder spoke at the table " We are going to stand by the decision of the 1st body of elders in that you are DISFELLOWSHIPED! What was I thinking it was a Kangaroo Court and the second body is not going to over-ride the 1st body of elders....that would make the Elders Look bad. IT was a classic example of CONTROL.
