by Oh Jebus, Save Me From Your Followers! injust a newbie here trying to aquaint myself.
i can' t say how thrilled i was to find out that this site existed!
it was actually shown to me by my sister - who by the way - with you're help- has seen the truth about the "truth" and is in the process of learning to live a normal life.

Karissa made copies of everything, may send off to Cassellberry, FL
by Karissa inyou all helped me more than you know.
whenever i have been feeling down i look and read at all that everyone has written.
i feel as though i have an army of friends that has stood by me through the toughest time i have ever gone through- you guys seemed to know what i needed to hear, even if some of it was hurtful, it was sooo helpful and i needed to hear it.

One new addition...
by Aimee ini have been wanting to be part on this group for a little while... so here i am!
some of you have met or talked to my husband, bryan.
he is the xjw; i'm here to better understand some of the stuff he is has gone through in his life, as well as what he is going through... and i must say that after meeting a few of you at the dallas apostafest, i already understand a step better... but i also understand that the road will be long; and i am ready!.

Hi Aimee and welcome
That is so sweet of you to want to really "understand" what your husband has been released from.
I might suggest reading at least Crisis of Conscience....it gives the history of the JW's and other important things about the WTBS.
Hope you enjoy your stay here!!!

Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
by Lady Lee ini posted this in a thread but perhaps it needs to be on its own so that it doesn't take over the other thread.
most people who have lived in a cult or high control group such as the jws will experience many of the symptoms of complex post-traumatic stress disorder (c-ptsd).. complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
trauma and recovery .

Lady Lee: Thanks for sharing this.
I thought I was handling this change in my life ok..(the path of the truth about the truth(tm).....until my sister found out about the UN letter and caused me so much stress. (She wasn't suppose to find out...I didn't tell her...my new husband did---it has opened a can of worms that I am just not prepared for).
I can't stop thinking about it...I am so depressed. I just can't get grounded...
What you have just put in this thread is what I have been thinking about in my life..........our brain and neuropaths can only take so much stress and then something triggers all the pain you have ever had.....
Thanks for printing this info...

ummmm...I think Sassy and I are related. (lol)
I love Crown Royal and coke...also Crown Royal and 7-up
If I can't afford Crown Royal...Canadian Hunter is a darn good affordable Canadian Whiskey. (trust me on this one)
I also love gin with tonic water and a twist of lime. (very refreshing!)
Long Island teas were great too...If you can get: Barton's Long Island Tea(It is all the liquors in one bottle) you mix is with a splash of coke and some whiskey sour mix...(liquid) not much....That is guaranteed to "take you away"...RX: becareful they are potent. Ask your liquor store if they can order it for you...when I moved to CA they ordered it for me!!! Yahoooooooo!!!
Vodka and orange juice is great........also vodka and cranberry juice is too!!!
Hope this helps ya out somehow...and When the heck are we gonna party together????????
Hugs and this is for you:

Thanks to everyone (and let me introduce myself)....
by TallTexan inrandy was kind enough to recently post my story on his website (www.exjws.net/pioneers/rjjw.htm) the response i received was overwhelming, with many invitations to join this discussion forum.
i won't go into my story, as it is posted and, as long as it is, is really only the tip of the iceberg.
the more i read and the more i talk to former jw's, the more i'm convinced that i have been duped..something i never thought would happen to me, as cynical as i am.
