JWism..........I'm not worthy!
by bikerchic inso i'm reading this book you can't afford the luxury of a negative thought, by peter mcwilliams and this chapter jumped out at me, i'll quote it below because to me it totally answers the jw dogma and how ingrained that feeling of never being good enough, or just plain enough.
i would be interested in some feed back if you have any.. where does negative thinking come from?.
part i page 49.. why do we use the power of our mind to create a negative reality?

What did you actually enjoy about JW meetings?
by Pinned Blouse in.
as much as i dreaded going to all the meetings there were things that i did enjoy.. 1. no special parking spaces for the elders, etc.. 2. no collections plate going around the room.
3. no one person giving the talk every single week (can you imagine the same speaker 3 to 4 times a week, every day?

ok...the first Theocratic School and Ministry meeting: I enjoyed the fact they used teenagers, as a 10 year old that caught my attention and I loved it!!!
There were some times in my adult life that I did enjoy it.......feeling the comraderie and all.....and feeling like I had "friends" there that cared about me

Adult orthodontic patients...anyone?
by razorMind ini have a question:.
if you have a retainer, do you wear it?.
i haven't worn my retainer in about six months, and the periodontist told me on a recent visit that i need to go ahead and wear it, or my teeth will all revert back to their original positions (not pretty; my teeth were pretty busted-looking before braces) he says that because i'm an adult it will happen much faster than a child's or teen's.. i've tried unsuccessfully to keep it on for sustained periods for the last 24 hours, and it just hurts too much to wear.

I would certainly ask my orthodontist those questions........heck, you paid a lot for his/her services...and they should be guaranteed especially IF your wisdom teeth were removed AFTER the retainer was made, that means, your teeth had room to shift.

Hi Razormind!
I was an adult orthodontic patient.
I had no problems wearing the the clear plastic retainer and did so at night probably for 2 years after my braces came off. My retainer was NEVER uncomfortable....sounds like your shift might have occurred rather quickly. You have already paid a mighty sum for your braces, if need be, your orthodontist can put them back on, FREE of charge, till rectify the matter. Your teeth are quite an investment!!!
I have a permanent retainer on the bottom teeth......otherwise they would have reverted back almost as soon as the braces came off.
How long have you had your braces off???

Well, let's see: Is this company located in the USA?
Then they better be abiding by the policies of the USA and the grounds for which they have terminated her have abused her rights as a US citizen!!!
If that company doesn't want to abide by the policies of the USA, they need to move out of the USA to a country where they can make their own rules.
I have worked for a temporary employment agency, this woman has rights and she has been abused by her employer!!!

When you were in school, did you dread knocking on a schoolmate?s door?
by Elsewhere ini did not know where most of my schoolmates lived, but i knew they were out there... somewhere.
i dreaded the thought of a door opening to a face i knew from school.
it was like walking through a minefield for me... every door was like another step... would my next step be my last???

YES!!!!
My family were the only JW's in school. Talk about feeling like I lived under a microscope, that was me, always scrutinized. I did have the teachers' admiration as I was an A student. I had one teacher that would talk about JW's and bring my name up in other classes as being one. He respected me for what I believed.
I was always relieved when we didn't work the "territory" where I lived.
