  MY MOTHER IS VERY SERIOUSLY ILL !

  she has cancer and is not expected to live.

  she properbly has only a short time to live.

  how sad!

  When I was a very young teen, I got the news that my Mom had cancer, she was given a week to live and lived her last 3 weeks in the hospital.

  i am now painfully well aware that you have recently signed a multi-million dollar contract with the beleaguered air canada, much to the chagrin of its workers i might add whio have been forced to take a pay hike to pay for your advertisement.

  hell, this is canada, anything that makes little sense is tolerated here.

  the reason that i am so painfully aware of the fact that you sub-contract to air canada is that the bloody song that you sing on that bloody advert of theirs is like some damned terminal viral outbreak.

  "Just being seen on the street is a witness."

  remember how the witnesses used to always say that even if they didn't meet anyone home, just being seen by traffic on the street was a witness?

  as if the people driving by are saying to themselves, "wow, look at those servants of the true god, bringing the waters of life to my door.

  if only i weren't so bull-headed, i might listen to them and attain a good relationship with my creator.

  NOdenial and I were running errands today...and I said: " Are those JW's walking down the street?" (I thought I saw one of our tracts popping out of a Bible, feeling kinda paranoid lately).

  He said: No...they are Mormons.

  So, I must say I thought about your topic this afternoon........

  HELP!! Trying to find right religion brough up as JW

  i was raised as an on again off again (when convenient for flighty mom) jw.

  i have recently decided due to the birth of a daughter that it was time to get it together and decide what to do with myself spiritually as she was going to church with her baptisit dad and i felt awful.

  so, i've been using the reasoning book and reading the bible and trying to decide what's right.. spent hours looking at christmas online....saw it was traced to pagan celebrations and decided not to do it.

  well...it is true, we were told NOT to associate much if any with our relatives who weren't JW's. Because we were told all non-Jw's were: Bad Association.

  I never followed that rule. Yes, I associated with my non-JW relatives whenever I wanted. I loved them...their religion didn't matter to me.

  in a recent thread someone said that bagpuss was a good name but didn't know what it meant.. bagpuss was a character from a childrens programme in the 1970s and is becoming popular again now.

  i chose this name as like bagpuss i am soft,cuddlyand loyal, but will get the claws out when needed.. why did you choose your 'alias' and what does it tell me about you?

  I looked at your thread with great interest. I thought about this while I was walking my cute dog this morning, I have been doing a lot of soul searching lately.

  I have been raised a JW and lived it for 36 years....Upon finding the real truth about the truth(tm)...I actually asked the same question you just did.

  It is because as JW's, we neatly had every answer arranged. That is a comfort zone beyond comfort.

  I still have a personal relationship with God, but I don't believe in organized religion. (Imho)

  My religion is MY personal relationship with God (Jehovah).....I don't need a religion with a "name" to tell me how to have that relationship, when I have the Bible as my guide. I am NOT a spiritual babe anymore!

  Living my life and showing true love to God, neighbor and family is more important than having a named religion attached to my soul.
