i'm new to this site so thought i would introduce myself.
i'm actually gadget's girlfriend (the guy of secret santa fame!!
) and have registered here to get a better understanding of what ex-jw's have gone/are going through.
Welcome
hey, guys, i'm sorry if i did anything to offend you yesterday.
i havent had alcohol in over 14 years, but i was having a psychotic experience.
a bad case of ... (brummie dots) ... triggered it.. for a while there i thought i had found the true source of the unverse in ... (brummie dots) ... and i wanted to make sure all of mankind knew of ... (brummie dots) ... and that all they required to be worshipped was a little .
Hey Brenda: sure hope you are feeling better.......and yes...drinking a lot of water and 2 ibuprofens help immensely!!!
a friend of mine just lost his young 4 year son in a sleigh accident.
the child ( the same age as my young caroline) sledded down the front hill of his property into the path of an on coming school bus.
terrible tragedy.. my wife and i ; who have known them for some time; must attend the service this eveing.
(((Franklin J )))
So sorry to hear about the accident....it is indeed a very sad thing for a child to die...
You and your wife are doing the "right thing"...you are being very supportive....and giving with the food and drink. I am sure your kindness will be greatly appreciated.
many hugs,

Happy Birthday
although this is my first post i must say that i feel like i know so many here very well.
your posts have helped me tremendously.
as i become more comfortable i hope to join in the topics and begin to share more about myself.. for now i'll say that i am currently a jw that began researching information about two years ago to improve my faith and knowledge.
Welcome
Me and my husband are doing the "fade" as well, been a little over a year. It can be pretty exhausting, this fading process...But you have to do what you have to do. (right?)
I have found this board quite therapeutic as well....knowing I am not "alone" in the way I feel.
Looking forward to more of your posts!

i was raised a jw and as i've probably said before, i left when i was around 18... i'll be 27 in a few days, and as i get older realise how i do not really know how to celebrate anything.
being raised a jw we never had xmas or birthdays (or any celebration), and since none of the friends i had when i left the jw's were christian either, i have to this day never celebrated it... i am not christian and will openly admit that i couldn't care less about the religious side of christmas, but what i see around me, everywhere in the world are people who aren't really christian either, celebrating christmas, either for kids or friends or whatever, but i've never done that or had anyone around me to do that with... people look forward to this time of year so much, they buzz and rush around like it's a real event, and to this day i've never been able to feel that way.
most of my christmas/birthdays since leaving jw's have been spent by myself, completely devoid of celebration, i want to get into that feel good spirit, but i don't know how, and if i try to fake it, i know it is fake.
DH: Great topic!
Me and NOdenial are not celebrating xmas....we don't feel comfortable with it.
I vaguely remember celebrating one xmas (well all the holidays)...as a very young girl (before my Mom became a baptized JW), but didn't enjoy any of them, except for thanksgiving...
NOdenial has never celebrated any holiday nor his birthday...and has no wonder about it or desire.
So, I kinda of understand where you are coming from...I am not sure with me, the aspects of some of the holidays...they just don't seem logical.
Families coming together because they love one another and wish to spend time to enhance their relationships is "wonderful"....I admire that most about people that celebrate holidays, but wonder why they only mostly chose holidays to do that (but, that is better than NOT getting together as a family).
Being a mother, I have always wanted to celebrate their birth.......it was a most happy day for me and always will be remembered...I am glad they are here.

Elsewhere...you are on a roll...thanks for your cooking tips!!!
And everyone else....
I love getting dishes from different states...they all seem to have a recipe that is unique to their region!

jehovah's witnesses are a nosy bunch.
they watch to see if anyone might be offending another person's conscience.
they listen for any negative comments that could bring "reproach on jehovah's name".
Min...you are so "right"
for this reason and others, I don't miss being with "them"...
I found this out when I was going thru a divorce, would you believe I walked into the KH and someone asked: "so who is your husband sleeping with now?".......
They are a poor example of true Christian love as set forth in the scriptures. Their love is false and shallow and just too nosey...I don't need their kind of of "love".
