  why my religion is right and yours is wrong or the flawed logic of "the one true path"

  if you are a human being who lives on earth, you have probably been exposed to other human beings who are not your exact clones.

  if this sounds like you, then you have probably also been told once or twice that what you believe is wrong and (coincidentally) the person who told you this just so happens to have the correct set of beliefs that you should promptly integrate into your life.. .

  well...I for one know that brothers "hit" on sisters..

  As you all know, we have been fading.

  My husband worked with a married brother. My husband was outta town working during that last Memorial season. This brother knew I was "alone", knew my husband was across the contintent working.

  He came by alone......not in meeting clothes, to ask ME to the memorial and he would let me ride with his family. Brothers, whether servants or NOT have been counseled to never be alone with a "sister".

  Funny thing, whenever we me and my hubby sees him since then, he acts like I am INVISIBLE, only talks to my hubby........pretty weird???

  i decided to start this topic when ozziepost shared the experience of a bethel representative telling him and mrs. ozzie "and don't forget, we've got your children!

  it's important for us to hear these experiences and to share them with each other.

  it helps us tear down the mistaken beliefs that the incidents that happen to us are not isolated ones, but are in fact par for the course when one parts ways with the jws and wts.

  I will never forget the first email you sent to NOdenial when you guys got reconnected from a school website. You shared your JW horror story of unkindness, this one as well as MORE horrible things said and done to you that you endured.

  I turned and said to NOdenial: GEEZ...what the heck is going on? He said: It's not just happening to us, it is a widespread problem among this religion.

  WE had that infamous welcoming visit that culminated all the other unloving things that I put in the back of my mind in the last 25 years, because ya know, you have to LOVE the brothers to prove you LOVE Jehovah: YOU must put up with all the bull crap no matter what. That statement was this: We need to see your publisher cards cause you might be PEDOPHILES.

  I still hear that sentence as if it was said to me today..........I am still wondering why I didn't throw them out of our house right after they said that comment to us.........life long JW's that have been faithful and kind to others? The shock of the stabbing words I guess paralyzed me.

  Then during the same welcoming visit, NOdenial asked where in the Bible it says we must turn in time. They said, hang on we will show you. They thumbed thru the Bible like for 3 minutes, and said: WE can't find it now, but when we do, YOU are going to eat CROW....................They said that comment 2 more times before they left to my husband and totally ignored me for 2 hours and 45 minutes. AGAIN: I was paralyzed to hear such unloving things!

  I can go on with some more examples but you might want to set some time aside for it. (not joking here)

  I am sorry that all of you have experienced such cruelty by a religion that claims to be a united loving brotherhood.

  Help! How to find FRIENDS?

  i need your help, finging me ideas on where to find friends, how to make friendships, and how to keep them.. tetrapod.sapien asked for this topic.

  Great ideas!

  Might I add, taking your dog to Starbucks, grabbing a coffee and sitting down to "watch" people is a great way to meet people!!! Tried and true, I have done that...and yes I have a cute little dog....dogs are always "natural" conversation starters.

  For those that don't have a dog, borrow your neighbors and go have fun!!!

  I have a new laptop! Woohoo!

  wow, i'm so amazed.

  i have some friends whom i've helped out a bit, and they have a computer resale business.

  they generally get a lot of older stuff, so when she told me that she would like to give me a laptop, i was a bit skeptical as i didn't want a big ol' dinosaur.. it s an hp omnibook 6000. i've been fixing it up all night, installing stuff.

  i am friends with a divorced woman.....(true to myself, because i have once been one i share my time with one so she isn't so blue and "alone").

  she visits me and shows me her online dating sites and the things "guys" say about themselves.

  it's quite entertaining and we laugh together as she shares me her online "winks".. one was from a guy that is "fiesty and sassy".............
