I agree with what Blondie said
I do see some going to extreme's but I understand for them it is a "phase". If they like their new life, so be it.
But as Blondie said: when the spring has been held so tightly, you can expect it to fly (for some)...
i know that i am enjoying some of the things i would've gotten involved with had i not been raised in the "truth".

i moved back to beaumont to stay with crabby pants.
was in dialup hell for a while because the computer was attached to cp's phone line.
he couldn't stand for me to be online for any length of time because it might have interferred with him getting to scream, cuss and roar at telemarketers and slam the phone down over and over hard enough to break it.
Welcome back (((Frannie)))
I knew you would be back.....
I am so sorry about your tooth abcess. I had 4 weeks of excruciating tooth pain....it's the worst!!!

Welcome
This is a great place for spiritual healing....I enjoyed reading about you.
I am a fader of 3 years....This board has been very essential for me.
Keep reading and posting.
if you wanted to fade or disappear, and you said you were moving into a new territory,( or country) for your cards to be sent to a fake secretary ?
would it be possible to give them the name and address of someone you trusted and then you could keep them, there would be no record of you in the old hall or any other?
has anyone done this and succeeded ?
5th Generation:
maybe the same people who post on this board and tell us to just get over it.
i get so tired of them dismissing our experiences and trauma by saying "why do you have to tear jehovah's organization down?
just get over it and move on!".
It's called: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
People don't just get OVER PTSD...........
Spiritual abuse counts as PTSD!!!!
Happy Birthday
this was a typical response to any kind of complaint or sharing of a personal situation with anyone in the congregation.
instead of offering up some kind of physical or emotional support, almost 100% of the time me and my family would get the old:.
"don't you know that there are brothers worse off than you in the world, whom are truly hurting?
Yes I heard that comment and always "cringed".
I grew up in a family where my DAD would never let us show our emotions too. IF we cried, he would say: "stop crying, or I will give you something to cry about".
When the WTBS followers or my Dad would say those things, it stripped away my right to "feel" what I was feeling as if I weren't important at all.
NO ONE should be allowed to do that to you.
Even IF someone else appears to be going thru a "worse scenerio" then you....YOU are still affected and may not be able to handle what is dished out to you as well as others.
I say: Each should really walk a mile or 2 in your shoes before they say any rediculous statement like: "someone has it worse then you" or "stop crying".
You are right, a real Christian would address the sympathy needed at that point to validate the person sufferin and show love to that person!
Codeblue
my mom called last night to tell me he passed on sunday.
he died peacefully and fairly painlessly.
my mom said she was talking with him, went to answer the phone, and 5 minutes later he was gone.
(((Brenda))) so sorry to hear about your Dad
ok, seriously people, can anyone here say they honestly enjoy las vegas?
what an utterly depressing place.
my wife and i went there for a "wedding".
I don't gamble, but I think everyone should see Vegas once. There are kewl malls with unique artwork, light shows, even free shows to see from the sidewalk.
I have been twice for business, the 2nd time wasn't a thrill for me. Like I said, it's a once, must see!
i have been lurking on these forums for about 6 months and thought it was time to join in.. i was a child/teen when i first became introduced to jehovah's witnesses through my mum who studied for a while but never fully committed.
i had a study and attended some meetings but it all petered out by the time i hit my late teens and we moved to another town.. for the following 10 years i just lived my life how i pleased.
got married etc.
Welcome
