  So sorry to hear of your experience. I too had one...my husband was a ministerial servant. Out of the blue he stepped down from that position. He told me he was getting together with my best friend in the Truth. We got together as couple's with them a lot, so they were like both of our best friends in the congregation. The odd thing is that they both accused us of getting together with THEIR spouse (which never happened)...hmmm...nobody was reproved or nothing....We moved states away because I wasn't recovering from that affair. Then 7 years later he called her again and almost met her. I got tipped off by an annonymous caller before his plans fell thru. They had a year phone correspondence: phone cheating???

  The reason I started this thread is because I want to know if this is a RARE occurence or what?

  The Credit Card Shuffle.

  a few weeks back, i noticed that virgin were offering a 0% interest rate for 6 months if you transferred the balances on your other credit cards to them.

  i decided to take the plunge and go for it.

  i moved over a few grand happy in the knowledge that i had "free" money for a 6 month period.. however, once i had done this, i then noticed that the interest rate on transferred balances was actually 2% more on their standard rate after the 6 month free period.

  I have switched credit cards for ones with lower interest rates.... At one time, in my past life, we had about a $3,000 credit card bill. It just seemed we always had a payment. We couldn't get out of that viscous cycle that was wasting our hard earned money. So, when we were offered a card with lower APR, we switched. It helped us to pay the card off way quicker and with less interest. Once it was paid off, we made a vow to never use the card unless it was paid off each month. That strategy worked and continues to work in my present life.

  Is the idea of immortality in any way possible?

  the traditional christian view of immortality hinges on some form of dualism -- the notion that your consciousness is not dependent on the brain and can survive the dissolution of the body.

  modern science has not found any evidence for this whatsoever.

  it seems rather likely that our consciousness and mental abilities are bound to our brains and their neuronal firings.

  Thanks for sharing your story. I always find it very interesting to read about one's life and how they got to this board. I appreciate those who have shared their life experiences because many times it mirrors mine.

  Maybe one day I can share mine....just not able to do so at this point, without jeopardizing certain relations.

  at one point, this morning (gmt) i had 14 of the "last post"s on the top 20 active thread list (probably 15, when i post this).. i hope it says more for how quiet the board is on a saturday morning, and less about how obsessed i've become with the board, again.. maybe it's time for another wee spell away....

  I enjoy your posts!!! Don't stop. But I do understand why you might need what you call a "wee spell away"...lol

  I have found myself looking at this site about 4 times a day, wondering if I am addicted (?) or just like knowing that I am not alone in feeling the way I do....

  I am new on this journey coming to this site...and relocated to another part of the country a year ago, both happened at about the same time, even though I didn't start posting till last June.
