toronto (cp) - the next time that special woman in your life mercilessly attacks the character of the females around her you might want to take notice.

Wow...I would say we could have a great "wine" party if we all got together.
Love_Truth: you listed all the wines...lol...I gotta kick outta that!
I don't judge a wine by how much I spent on it. When we lived in CA we could get wines for $1.00 a bottle and some of them were fabulous (got them at the $1.00 store---for real). I miss living near the wine country in CA...
I think Yellow Tail makes great wines and very affordable too.
Gloria Ferrar makes a great champagne that goes for about $12.00 a bottle...so you don't need to spend $75.00 to get a good bottle of Champagne!!!

i just thought that i would share my life as a jw.
i was born into this cult in 1973. i was born as a hermaphodite (both sexes) this was of great shock to my parents, apparently the confided in one of the elders asking him what thay should do?
his respones was that i should be made male (the doctors at the time said i should be female) my parent took the avice of the elder and i was the made to be a male.. as i was growing up i beged my parents to allow me to be the person that god had wanted me to be but the elders kept reasuring me and my parent that god wanted me to be a male so that i could one day be a elder or s/overser.. in my teen years it became very apparent that my parents had made a mistake as i would act in a very female way.
MysteryGirl:
I would have to agree with Winston, that your story tops any story I have read here.
I live in the USA...someone mentioned going to the press with the story. What if you contacted Dateline? Have you seen Dateline where you live? It is huge here in the USA for telling info for public awareness...
Your story is so horrendous...of course, you may not feel able to tell all the world about it...but trust me...Dateline is where I saw the child pedophile problem in the JW's...which started my doubts (I was raised a JW). Your story would add more fuel to the fire, because your abuse which happened from your elders consulting with your parents have given you a life story beyong comprehension, which in fact, brought you TERRIFYING abuse in your life that you are still dealing with.
I hope the best for you...please know I truly care about you. I hope your counseling is working for you...you have something very valuable to share with others...Maybe your story could help others, your experience could aid someone else that has walked in your shoes. (A book about your life could be the way to go)

I am not angry, a little put out that when I received a college scholarship I had to turn it down because at that TIME it was frowned upon by the WTBS. My life could have been completely different with the degree I wanted to have.
But as someone else mentioned: The Theocratic Ministry School was the best "free speech class"...it was a boost for my abilities to speak to anyone and has helped me on several jobs.
