my wife is a jw.. i've been trying to point out the errors of the wtbts but she just doesnt want to hear it.. i'm wonder if some people could share your turning point in regards to your relationship goes.
with the society.
what made you realize that the society was false.
I was raised in the JW religion and lived it for many years. The huge turning point for me was seeing the Dateline Special about 2 years ago exposing the child pedophile problem in the WTBS. That was so hypocritical of them to put down the Catholic Church and then to find out the WTBS are doing the same thing!!! I could not let go of that evidence. Also, like many others: the total LACK of love was huge evidence as well. Those are the 2 RED FlAGS that told me something was very wrong with the WTBS.
I later read COC and totally agreed with what was written.

nodenial and i were talking : who gave constantine the right to dictate that the bible canon should only include the 66 books that we see today?
there are dozens of other accounts on the life and time of jesus that non of us ever hear about or are able to research.. constantine in the 3rd century was a pagan!
yet we take his word for what is christian and what is spurious!

Constantine in the 3rd century was a PAGAN! Yet we take his word for what is Christian and what is spurious! This is absurd.
What do you think?
P.S. Does anyone know of any referrence material that completes the records about Jesus life and times in a single document?

i am new here and i have never been a jw, however by boyfriend has been one for most of his life.
he is now kicked out of the church.
i have to deal with his pain over the experiences he tells me about in regard to his association with this church and i don't know how to help him.
Hi and welcome to the board!!!
You are doing the right thing by researching the beliefs of your husband. I was raised as a JW and we have lived a life that is very different than most churches. I am not df'd like your husband, but he does need a lot of love and concern and patience right now. Like others have said, try to get him to sign on this board, he will find others in his situation that can help him progress thru the pain of what he is going thru.
Hope you enjoy your research here!

.
no prospects for the future except getting old and dying...most likely alone.. all seems kind of pointless sometimes, doesn't it?
Xena:
I am so sorry, you are having a bad day. Really, I do understand why you feel that way. I was married 20 years when I had my divorce. As a good JW, I didn't go to college when I HAD a scholarship. My first husband DIDN'T want me to work till 2 years before he LEFT me and our 16 year old son. I felt quite helpless, hopeless, you name it, I dropped down to 82 pounds. I was 40 when he left me....
I am not quite sure what kept me going...but one day at work I met an amazing person...NOdenial. Although he lived 3,000 miles away from me, we both had a lot of things in common. His wife had left him, he had teenage kids...he was lost, and alone. Now I wasn't suppose to be working that day, and he wasn't suppose to travel thru the state I lived in...he just changed plans at the last minute. Eight months later we were married!!!
So Xena...I am a believer that good things do happen...it is just a matter of time...please try to hang in there!!!
Hugs,

this popped up on my google news alert:.
posted on tuesday, april 20 @ 09:22:27 the culting of christianity.
not long ago, religious cults were dismissed by many americans as being the stuff of aging california hippies or eccentric gurus from the far east.. .
Blondie:
Thanks for sharing the info...I found it very enlightening!!!
