  my mom was born to a jewish family on staten island, new york 50 years ago.

  she learned "the truth" from a group of sisters who told her that the jews were not god's chosen people and that she needed to be baptized.

  she went through most of her life not following the society to a "t".

  Your Mom sounds like a very kind, caring person and one that serves God in a way that her conscience dictates, not an organization!!!

  You are so right about not really know people by their posts...Some people are better able to express their feelings when writing....Some express themselves better in person. That's what makes life so interesting!!!

  Sexual Harassment

  i thought i'd pose a question especially (but not exclusively) for the girls regarding sexual harassment.

  what would you deem as unfitting behaviour?.

  is it appropriate for a guy to ask if you are wearing any panties?

  I think that sexual harassment should NEVER be tolerated. It is a clear lack of respect for either male or female.

  I have been sexually harrassed at a job.....and turned the manager in!!! The same manager sexually harrassed the teenage girls where I worked as well, they were too afraid to speak up...but I was infuriated!!! The manager was terminated.

  Opinions on Age of Baptismal Candidates

  i am sure i am not the only one that thinks it's ridiculous that they allow pre-teens and young teens to get baptized.

  i know now that i did not have a full understanding of the implications of baptism.

  i did it primarily because that's what was expected.

  How old was Jesus when he got baptized? Wasn't he 29?

  We are suppose to be his foot step followers....so we should be the SAME age he was when we get baptized!!!

  Just a logical thought to me. As stated by someone else, you should be old enough to make a "life long decision".
