  How many "ascended the mountain", and didn't see "the light"?

  i'm talking about the jw dream of visiting mecca bethel!

  i had heard the stories of "the friends" who came back from bethel ("ascended the mountain") and they came back with their faces beaming.

  it was so great, that they could talk almost endlessly about it and the entire experience seemed to be so "spiritual".

  Sorry about the last "unpost"

  When I was in a plane ride 1999...I was sitting beside a person that was anti-witnessing to me..(at that time I was a full fledged JW)...he told me that Bethel in NY was not all that was cracked up to be...I thought he was an apostate!!!!) But I was much to kind to say the word and I just listened with respect.. But never forgot the conversation, to this day.

  Maybe there was a "reason" I was to hear this message but it took me 4years to click in!!!!

  Why did it take 4years to see the light?

  Maybe, seeing the Dateline 2002 about the serious Pedophile problem within the WTBS was what crack my "rose colored glasses".

  What do ya do on a boring weekend???

  lol it kinda sucks.

  i had my first week at my new job (so a little stressed) and my big sis and i had planned on spending the weekend together.

  then she decided it wasn't a good weekend when i was all ready.. anyway, what are good ways to have fun when you're bored and have nothing to do all weekend and no one to go anywhere with?

  Who makes the WORST boss.....Male or Female??

  6 months ago i was promoted to ward manager in the hospital i work in, and despite all the stress that goes with working in healthcare (particularly the good ol nhs!

  ) i come home usually knackered but still pleased that this is the job/career path i have chosen.

  managing nurses brings its own headaches, and without wanting to sound sexist, it is sometimes difficult to work alongside a whole group of women and try to keep a happy ship with all the personalities that come into play.

  ok, i've been staring at post after post for hours, done weeks of digging on the web, without speaking to a soul.

  i figure everyone had to start somewhere, so i just decided to throw it out.. i only recently came out of my "lockdown" phase (where you don't even speak about your feelings about "the truth") and have just started looking around.

  Expressing your feelings by writing is a very positive step in healing. I have been reading this site for 1.5 years!

  Both me and my husband are fading and we were both raised as JW's.........he was almost an elder...
