It's snowing in Seattle!!

very unusual for december 1, but it is really coming down.

i have to pick up my granddaughter after school at 3 and it's almost noon now.

i hope it doesn't stick much.

THE CHEESE CRACKER MEN - R - Defined

i normally understand everything you write, and get what you mean, but i have been trying to figure out your cheese cracker men expression?

I remember when I first started "surfing" this website...reading this post and others about Bethel life that JT wrote. I had an idea about the "cheese and cracker men", but his real life story about Bethel got me thinking even more.

I will never forget sitting on an airplane and a guy was sitting next to me, it turned into a religious discussion. When I told him I was a JW, he asked me: " Do you really know what goes on in your Bethel? You would be quite surprised." I never forgot that conversation.

Back to the cheese and cracker men: That was obvious when we relocated, been JW's all our life, and they said on a "welcoming visit" in our home: "we need to see your publisher cards, YOU could be pedophiles".

My life changed after that visit, tremendously.

Elders School Notes, Part 7: Trust Us!!!!

synopsis: we can trust the faithful and discreet slave (fds).

Why should we trust them when the elders come to make a "welcoming visit' after relocating and say this:

"We have to see your publisher cards, YOU might be pedophiles".

A person who is spirit appointed would NEVER say that to life long faithful JW's who have relocated.

What musical instrument do you play?

i spent many many years peforming on the cello before becoming a witness at 18 and being encouraged to quit all my symphony associations etc which i obediently did.

i was a soloist once with a community symphony and it was a wonderful experience!

i have a recording of the concerto i performed.

At the age of 8, I taught myself to play the piano. We were too poor for lessons.

In Jr. HIgh, I played flute and was in the band..uh hah...that's right. I got to be in Band. I quickly became 1st chair in the High School Band by 9th grade. I also got to play the piccolo...Between 7 and 11th grade I won many awards for solos and duets at local and state competitions.

and hold on to your seats: I received a scholarship for Band Camp after 9th grade!!! Yes, I went to Band Camp!!! lol for real!

During 9th grade I wanted to learn to play guitar, so I borrowed my brother in laws classical and taught myself enough easy chords to manuever and write about 50 songs from then till I was 24...I also love to sing.

But in 11th grade quit band, out of a bad conscience......for baptism. I had just received another music scholarship I couldn't use. That made me so sad.

My first husband traded in my classical guitar for an acoustical.....and I play that from time to time. Wishing I had someone local with to sing in a band and play a little guitar or flute!

It's no wonder that MOST JW's have low self esteem after reading this weeks WT summary.

Makes me want to cry, that 2 of my adult children are reading this stuff.

Mrs Kwin got a job offer, so we're moving.

mrs kwin has really wanted to get into digital imaging and has taken several courses over the last couple years for it.

well, on the weekend she got a job offer from her aunt.

her aunt is starting up a company and needs someone to do just that!

I am excited for your wife, with a new career and excited for all of you with the 2,000 km move! This can be the best thing for "starting over" with your new life for all of you!!!

NODenial and I were working south of the St. Catherines area a few months ago. I finally saw the Falls for the first time, but while driving thru St. Catherines I thought it would be a nice area to live in.

Keep us posted when you move!

9 years since i saw my jw son

yes, 9 years.

we have chatted once and emailed a few times,,,,,, well last night he emailed me and wants to meet this weekend,,he is almost 25,,,. we are about an hours drive apart and will meet in the middle, i am so afraid to damage the meeting,,,i want so much for it to go well,,,, he is no longer a jw (thank goodness) and hasnt been for many years now if the other 3 would only come around.
