Help With Cancer Treatment
by andrej inmy dad is a jw and has recently been diagnosed with chondrosarcoma (type of bone cancer), the oncologist says the only way to treat this is to cut off his leg and part of his pelvic bone.
since he will not accept blood transfusion, the doctor will not perform the surgery because of the high risk of him not making it through the surgery.
he has found an alternative doctor that has given him a lot of hope and started him on a natural chemo, various vitamins and a nutritional plan.

Hello All,
Sixofnine and French, I have no idea what to believe, as far as a traditional Dr. How about them telling you the following, we'll cut your leg off and then maybe you'll be okay (15% survival rate, thats if he makes it through the surgery) I was there when this was said. Second opinion, yea, we got one from MD Anderson (supposed to be the top cancer center in America according to some) and we received the same answer as the previous doctor. I agree this alternative stuff seems far fetched, but what a story that they all have come up with. The only thing I know is these alternative treatments have helped and the Dr has given him new hope. All of the research I have done (from major cancer institutes) have talked about the power of the mind and alternatives. At least their talking about, and not giving a big f*** U, about it. Of course this doesn't mean it works. As far as conspiracy goes, I can debate either point made by the drug companies. The point is I really don't care.
Now, my question is to all, does anyone have any experience on alternative medicine, If it worked, what did you do, if it didn't how come?

If there isn't natural chemo, what is oncolyn, carctol, haelin 951, oncotox, n-tense, pau d'arco than?
I agree it does seem JW are vulnerable to these natural treatments, do you have any personal experience on these.

French, I am 26 and in Texas my father found 2 alternative Dr's in North Carolina and Georgia. The natural chemo that they are taken does not have a name (I know its weird to me) it some plant from South America that recently was allowed in the USA (it is supposed to only kill the cancer cells and not the good cells or weaken the immune system.). His treatment consists of the following: Vitamins, basically what I understand is to beef up his imune system to help kill the cancer, next to increase the oxygen in his body because the cancer lives off of no oxygen (look into Dr. Otto Warburg research in the early 1930), he can't eat anything with sugar (my understanding is that cancer feeds off of sugar) , and his diet is limited to organic products and only some of these. This treatment is very different to me because I am use to take 2 asprins and call me in the morning type of therapy. However, the more I look into this type of treatment at least the articles and reports I have read are consistent. Even the USA sponsored cancer organaztion touch on altern. treatment. Also, to clarify I am not a JW, nothing against them.
