Am I being really paranoid?
Nope. Your not being paranoid...go with your gut feeling hun.
There is usually somekind of alterior motive with them.

did the elders ever try to trick you into saying too much or even trick you into having to meet with them after you said that you wouldn't?
here is my dilema: i have been inactive for about 18 mnths and moved out of the area, got a new phone number, ect.
i have had the best of both worlds, a good relationship with my family (because i'm not df'd or da'd) and freedom from the borg.

someone will be very disappointed tomorrow morning!
i am home on maternity leave right now, and this has given me the opportunity to meet people in our neighborhood that i might never have come in contact with otherwise.
a few weeks ago, i started chatting with a mother who was out for a walk with her toddler.
this woman brought an extra bible with her so that she didn't have to use a different translation.
Usually this come's later....but have heard of JW's giving them as gifts to co-workers. Plus makes it easier if they dont have to explain how passages are 'worded up' to support WTS doctrine.
But its Great! Well Done ~!!! ~ keep up the 'informal witnessing' lol

this is an essay i wrote a while ago:.
pastor russell's 1911 visit to hawaii: the case of the "imaginary sermon" .
walter martin, in his bestselling kingdom of the cults, alleges that pastor charles t. russell regularly lied about his evangelistic activities -- particularly, by reporting that he spoke publically in places where his ship only briefly stopped for fuel.
Russell was a complex man.
Russell was a nut.

.
jehovah's witnesses must "believe" whatever the watchtower bible & tract society publishes.
now that you aren't forced to accept beliefs that you might not have wholeheartedly endorsed, there must be many different things that you don't accept.....what comes to mind?
How many here believe in the Bible's view of morality, now?
Ummmmmmmmmm to a point yer...alot of it I dont think is that much of a issue these days...all depends on what or in what ways...but i guess you would have to define morality

sometimes i think that because we jws were so deceived, tricked and flat out lied to by an organization that claims to be the sole representative of god, when we take the step to leave the group we (may) have a tendency to discard god as well, in the process.
i realize also there are those who by their nature (perhaps) and their point of view and ideology, that its just a natural personal kind of evolution that brings them to the point that god doesnt exist.
or, that if he does, it doesnt really play any kind of a roll in their lives.
My belief in God is real, and I can’t deny that fact.
I do believe in God, Just Not The Watchtowers version of Him.
recently i came upon this statement on this board: .
they were a couple: husband and wife; they were providers: mom and dad; they were people: man and woman; but they weren't really parents.
they let the religion "parent" me... .
but I believed it was coming from God so I believed.
I think this is the case for most jw's, you arent alone

i was observing my loyal wife sending out anniversary cards to other witnesses,.
as she has done for many years.
if we were ordinary protestants, we would probably.
i was searching around the internet - visiting those toon porn sites (on accident and ah research - yea) and to my disbelief i was shocked to find a picture of you there!
i mean you are such a good brother and all but wouldn't it be wise to lead your fellow brothers and sisters in the right path of happiness and not into temptation?
for my fellow breathen - see with your own eyes such behavior of our fellow brother..... .
