If I held a gun to my head and told my husband I would kill myself unless he left the WTS with me, he would let me blow my brains out. And all the while, he would reason that he did it because he loves me and knows he has the truth. By allowing me to die, he would actually be giving me everlasting life He has actually hinted as much. He would rather I was dead than be an 'apostate'.
What I am trying to say is, no matter what we do or say, if you force someone to leave, or choose your love and friendship over the WTS, they may well leave the organisation out of loyalty to you, but they would not truly be 'out'. Everyone has to make their own decision. This took me some time to realise, but you can't live a lie for years on the off-chance that your family members will finally listen to you. In fact, I feel I have more chance getting my family out if I leave than if I stay. Not that my husband would leave the WTS for my sake as I would have done for him - but each to their own.
