  well at least that's a start. So while disagree with total gun control and saying it won't fix it, which I have said multiple times it won't stop it altogether, at least you did offer something. I didn't say I have the answer, I said I am offering a solution and repeatedly asked those who disagree with my solution to offer there own.

  So I think you said we need to focus on what the cause of the people wanting to do this with perhaps some sort gun control. I take that to mean, focus on mentally ill perhaps? Out of curiosity what version of gun control do you suggest?

  As a nation we can't just say guns are our right and ignore the problem. How many massive shootings would it take? Are endless mass shootings acceptible?

  @adjusted knowledge you're only adding fuel to what I think should happen which is total gun reform in the U.S. I am well aware of the damage non assault rifles do. An assault rifle ban should be a no brainier already. But to be clear total gun banning would be my solution. I know so far everyone disagrees with me, but at least I'm trying to fix a terrible problem our country has. But now is your opportunity to say what your solution would be.

  I am still waiting for just some type of solution other than gun control. All the other side comments seem to be made in order to avoid this answer.

  little_socrates there's no way i would have chosen to engage an assault rifle with a hand gun. I just wouldn't do it, I would have ran like that guy did. I am just pointing out that the common notion is the way to solve this problem is arming more people. I would hope all concealed carry holders are very responsible, but this guy could have unloaded his whole gun on them and no one would have said anything, in fact they would have called him a hero. But lets not get away from the real question. Since you are against gun control, please offer some solutions to this. I have offered mine which has only been met with scoffing at the idea. I have yet to see those who are against gun control offer a solution. I am not dogmatic in the belief that I know best and my way is the best way. But so far it is the only way that has been offered to correct a problem. Please take your opportunity to offer a plan or solution.

  The irony of having a gun to protect from others who own guns is there was a man interviewed by CNN who had a side arm with him. He said he chose to run instead of using his side arm. It did him no good and played no part in his own personal outcome. It also adds question to the idea that if there were people in there with guns they would have used them and stopped the incident. I have heard that asserted repeatedly over the years. It's only valid if a person is willing to put their life on the line and shoot back and hit the target.

  Finkelstein, that quote really just supports total gun banning. But this is america and we have to start somewhere. 20 kids killed in an elementary school didn't move america to do anything, I don't know what will.

  But as I've asked before, I'm open to solutions to the problem. So far gun control is all that has been offered. I have heard many people say that that isn't the problem, but actually offer no solutions.

  Let's hear what the necessity or even need for allowing assault rifles. Why are they necessary to have? Why are people so against banning them? I don't understand why if it's a terror attack everyone wants to do something about it, but if it's an american doing the act, do nothing.

  Here is a fact, so far america has done nothing to improve the situation and it has only become worse. People who want guns offer no solution, but say its not gun control that will solve the problem. At least gun control is an attempt at solving the problem. If you say it's not the problem, then offer a solution.

  We could go back to the federal assault rifle ban that was around from 1994-2004. I personally would make all of them illegal whether bought legally before or not.

  Are we as American's even aware of how big this problem is? Do we just not care? According to this article if we weren't allowed to talk about gun control because of a mass shooting, we would never talk about it. 1,052 mass shootings in the US in the last 1,066 days. That's 4 or more people shot per instance.
