l recently went to watch green book , which l thought was excellent , it had everything , it took me though the whole range of emotions , from anger to joy , laughing then wanting to cry .
the quiet dignity of dr shirley mixed with volatile nature of tony lipp and seeing their emerging friendship was wonderful .
what really shook me was that these attitudes existed in my lifetime , not that long ago .
I went to see Lego Movie 2 on the weekend. Very good, highly recommended. Of course the £63 for seats was a kick in the fruit. (3 adults, 2 kids).
i rather apprehensively would like to say hello.. i've been raised somewhat in the truth,one of my parents is rather rather strong in the beliefs but could honestly be considered pomi with how active they are and their side of the family comes from a line of witnesses, the other parent was but faded a long time ago.
as such i was taught quite a bit of jw teachings between family and off and on again bible studies.
recently i had a serious emotional break down over a few months after said pomi parent had advised me that they would not attend my wedding should that day come (i also had recieved a text from my bible teacher i hadnt heard from in a year or two giving a scripture) and it sorta all sank on me that my activity over the last few years was not really jw material.
Whatever else you do... keep peeking! :)

Why would this be in any way a good thing?
A man could get everything right with all his beliefs, the origin of species, the existence of god, everything, but if he also believes that it's ok to murder people because he's "special", then he is a wholly bad person.
The JW organisation has killed people and ruined lives with their policies. It doesn't matter what they've got right, it's what they've got wrong that defines them.
... unlike the rest of humanity, you looked forward to mondays because it was a day off from a meeting..

when i first seen this website i actually thought it was a jw website hence the home page and not an ex jw website and i posted a topic thinking people were real witnesses then i quickly discovered it was not and all these people were commenting and embarrassing me and i couldn’t even delete the thread.
then i asked the admin to delete it and i said it was very misleading saying it’s a jw page and he’s like are you serious i deleted your topic and now you are attacking me and it clearly says ex jw page.
he was very rude and btw no where does it say ex jw and you should be able to delete your own threads you start.
Maybe he thought you were rude because you haven't corresponded with him. :D
Just another gay pizza loving JW with abandonment issues...
since my last post i have spoke with my parents and told them i am no longer a believer.
i told them i just can't anymore.
here is my short story.
Just one quick piece of advice:
Don't write a letter!
Don't write to your elders, don't write to the branch. A letter will not convince anyone and it certainly won't cause head office to change and rules or policies. The only thing that a letter does is put a massive sign over your own head which says "Disfellowship this person".
I have two close friends who wrote letters of disassociation and they were both disfellowshipped. I found out from talking to a JW that an elder from their congregation had said to them "If only they hadn't written a letter, I could have done something.".
How is it that I was talking to a JW last week? Because I didn't write a letter!
When the word gets out, you may still be hunted down and disfellowshipped, but writing a letter seals the deal.
Once you're happy to cut all ties and be shot of the whole stinking mess, go crazy if you want, but while your situation with your wife is unresolved, tread cautiously buddy!
