At least the guy on the floor is doing something constructive. Getting some shut-eye. The poor bastards by the carts are wasting their lives away in a trap that's harder to get out of than homelessness. If they did ignore him then they, unwittingly, did him the greatest favour they could.

There's nothing to watch on TV anymore ???
by RubaDub indo you find yourself, as i sometimes do, skimming through channels on the tv remote and not finding anything interesting to watch?.
growing up, we only had four channels on our tv (nbc, cbs, abc and pbs).
and yet there always seemed to be something of interest to see.. sadly, i often find myself watching shows where some guys are auctioning off storage lockers, killing alligators, picking junk from peoples' garages or barns, catching tuna, towing cars, driving trucks on the ice, catching crabs, running pawn shops ... etc etc etc.

I have a 4 year old and just scrolling through Netflix is problematic. Either he sees a scary image, some of the zombie shows have particularly gruesome cover pics or, even worse, he sees something like Peppa Pig or Wishenpoof and we have to watch that instead of something I might like..
I've been watching a family quiz show with Dara O'Brian on BBC2 on TV recently, but after that I usually end up on the horror channel watching Star Trek re-runs or Diners Drive-ins and Dives on the Food Network. Until I get the controller taken off me and it's back to fecking kids shows again.
I remember watching the Two Ronnies or Morecombe and Wise with my whole family on a Saturday evening when I was a kid. There doesn't seem to be that sort of general appeal TV any more, it's all niche.

Part of my studies when leaving the JW's proved (to me) that the spirit world doesn't exist. There are no angels, demons or gods but those we make.

You can keep a snake but they will never be a pet. Definition of pet " a domestic or tamed animal kept for companionship or pleasure." You can not tame or domesticate a snake. They will never bond. Hell they don't bond with each other. they are like sharks, they kill eat fuck and crap rinse and repeat. What you think is a pet if big enough and a constrictor will kill you if they fell the urge or if poisonous will bite you eventually. Same with all reptiles, Gators will not bond to you. If you feed them you can keep them satisfied enough they may not kill but will if the urge comes strong enough. They are not your friends.
I keep jumping spiders, an ant colony and a dog now. They all give me pleasure in different ways, watching the spiders hunt, seeing the ants digging out new chambers for the colony and the dog licking my balls when I get out the shower.

I like snakes and have kept them as pets, but I live in a country where the only venomous snake would make me feel a bit woozy. When I was a JW, a brother from Zambia was visiting and he wouldn't even enter my room with a snake in a tank in it. He was a teacher and a smart guy, but his cultural learning made him deathly afraid of all snakes, regardless, which I guess makes sense if you live in a place where you could encounter a snake which could kill you.

Two JW`s called at my door today
by smiddy3 inthe wife and i were expecting a health worker to call at our door 10:30 this morning and about 10;35 two women appeared at our door so i opened up thinking they were who i expected ,so i was take back a bit being caught off guard when they identified themselves as doing a bible work.. this is just the gist of what took place & not a word for word conversation.. a woman about in her fifties her companion about her twenties.the older woman did most of the talking as she read to me the scripture from her phone " in the last days critical times hard to deal with...etc.etc.and she went back and emphasised that we were living in the last days because of what that scripture said.. i made the comment that the scripture just about sums up human history in any given time.then i went on to say that this day and age is the best time in human history overall given the advances in technology ,medical procedures ,the overall standard of living being higher and so on .but they insisted on we were living in the last days.then i said different religions have been claiming that for the past couple hundred years.. then to throw them a curve ball i asked if they were mormons ?
oh no we are jehovah`s witnesses.had i been prepared for them and not caught out unawares i would have taken a different tact.i then asked the older woman how long she has been a witness and she said 36 years so i then said to her you must have seen a lot of changes in your religion during that time which she agreed with.
( the light gets brighter).

Not boring, thanks for sharing! Interesting that they both thought Rutherford started the religion. It was all about CT Russell when I was a JW. Are they phasing him out?

Beards
by HiddenPimo inso i started growing a beard 2 weeks ago and i am making some nice progress.
it has been noticed by many in my workplace and they give me great compliments.
my skin would get all bumpy from the constant shaving and i am so glad to be done with that form of cult control.. last year (i was pimo then) i worked in the video department at the regional convention.

Hi again The Son,
I'm not stalking you across this forum, honest, you've just commented in two threads I've looked in and said something I feel needs to be addressed in both.
Have you done any research on high control religions and undue influence? You may think that a beard is a minor matter, laughably unimportant even. The path to undue influence of an individual is not just made by one thing though, it's many minor attacks on an individual's autonomy that build up until the result is social control.
The society controls a person's appearance, their musical taste, their TV watching habits, what they do with their free time, who they are friends with... the list goes on. None of it a major issue, but taken together, it's a great evil.

Christian Longo on death row – is he up for a new trial?
by Bonnie_Clyde infor those who don’t remember, longo was a life-long witness (even a one-time ministerial servant) who strangled and/or drowned his wife, mary jane, and their three children, zachery, sadie and madison.
longo has been on death row in marion county, oregon, since 2003.. http://www.biography.com/people/christian-longo.
well, yesterday i talked to a woman who works with one of mary jane’s sisters who told me that longo was coming up for a new trial.

Hi The Son,
I haven't done any research, I try and avoid such real life horror stories, but if you post links to your evidence that he wasn't a real JW, I'll check them out.
Until then, you're just making unsubstantiated claims.

I like "When will I have a Banana again" By Harry Roy & orchestra. I think that's what it's called.
Today I am listening to "There Will Be No Armageddon" by UnionJack:
