if we can believe in an invisible sky daddy, surely we can believe in the doctor standing before us in flesh and blood.

Just returned from a funeral service for the (non-JW) husband of a JW in a funeral home. It was rather crowded. No JW discourse. But one elder suddenly stood up, walked to the back and started counting.....amazing... why ????? It is not a KH, not a meeting, not a JW organized meeting.....
Obsessed with counting????

I read: Does he have a reputation for being opinionated and dogmatic? Is he known as one who is harsh in judgment? Does he view his own opinion on matters as the final word? Does he procrastinate or handle assignments in a cavalier fashion? Are there questions about his dress or grooming? Would using a certain brother be offensive to some in the audience because of past problems or family difficulties? If you have answered yes to any of the questions listed above and the brother was not listed last year, then you should not list him at this time. However, you should endeavor to help the brother with his weakness so that he may qualify in the future.
We are talking about elders here right?? If that elder has these qualification, why is he an elder?!?!?!?! -

What the WT and their JW members never realize or do not want to realize that behind these stories there are millions of people, men, women, children, who suffer loss of work, imprisonment, rape, torture and death as a result of not joining the ruling denomination or religion. Only when the WT is upset because Russia blocked their site they act. Or when a group or a few JW's were somehow molested or went to jail for refusing to do military service. It is then published as proof of Satan being against THEM.
But compared to the million others, who suffer continuously for just being born there and (passively or actively) refuse to join the opponent, is never reported, never prayed for. So much for being (part of) a Christian congregation of Jehovah witnesses....

governing body was a fiction, not only would they refuse to believe you--they'd consider you their immediate enemy!.

I noticed that for most JW's, logical reasoning will not do the trick for them. I tried with my partner and it often leads to heated discussions. Moreover, it is the social life they have in the organization that motivates them And most of them have a sense of fear for the Father. Add the 2 together, and you have the reason why hardly anyone will be motivated to leave the organization because of the many changes in doctrine etc. It does not affect them. They meet their friend every week (3 times or more), do things together, they trust each other and believe that the Father will be happy with them. They reason: the gb cannot be that wrong if 8 million people globally are joined together.
And yes, I can provide many valid, reasonable counter arguments but that simple will not do it. Until now, I would not know what the silver bullet would be......

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects
by James Jack ina good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

I believe the title is a bit misleading. The borg site (html pages) is available in over 700 languages apparently. Could be but I do not feel that is so amazing. YouVersion supports 799 languages and has over 1100 versions.
Others, like banks/institutions are only to serve their customers and would only have the languages available to serve these customers.
The sites states:

Documents or publications are translated in some key languages (say some 25) but it is expected that everyone does have a knowledge of English.My point: yes, it can be considered an achievement to have a website that can serve about all languages. It is not unique and not all contents is equally available in all languages.
