  looking back on what i accepted to believe at the time, i now realize how peculiar some of things were:.

  - people talking to a snake.

  - killer of brother, who was recognized for his great offer, walks free and protected.

  Why believe in a god?

  if you consider that the god they believe in:.

  - cannot be seen or heard and is only known in books written by writers we do not know nor do we have the original writings- does not listen to prayers from believers for security, safety, health, survival, protection, rescue, food etc- promises things that have not come true though had plenty of time to act on the promises- does not provide what you need to live- let's you suffer, struggle, work etc equal to non-believers, treated equally.

  ........ how does a believer look at his/her parents if they hide themselves, do not provide for you (shelter, food etc), make promises but never live up to these, does not provide what you need to live, treats you like anyone else but not as their child?

  Blind faith

  you have those moments where you sit and think, how is it possible...... governments (local, regional or federal level) and political leaders in general are receiving their right to govern or lead from the people (with exception of some countries like north korea and china).

  if the people are not satisfied anymore (due to corruption, lies, baseless promises etc), they will act to initiate change.

  this can lead, in more extreme situations, to a revolution.

  i search on google if the concept of cities of refuge is also documented outside the bible.

  i did not really find it.

  Preaching

  the wt always said that preaching is a must for all christians as it was 'demanded' by jesus.

  in the latest announcements, it has become clear the rank and file are only allowed to preach if the wt leaders approve.

  in other words, all jw's are providing obedience to their wt leaders instead of jesus.

  i stumbled on john 17:1,2 which reads in net version:.

  17 when jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upward to heaven and said, “father, the time has come.

  glorify your son, so that your son may glorify you— 2 just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.. if jesus had a close relation with his father, would you not expect to read something like this:.

  Sin came into the world - not true?

  matt 5:27 “you have heard that it was said, ‘do not commit adultery.’ 28 but i say to you that whoever looks at a woman to desire her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.. this means that even before someone commits an act that is considered a sin or wrong but does think about it, that person actually already committed that sin or trespassing.. now read this:.

  5:12 so then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people because all sinned— 13 for before the law was given, sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin when there is no law.. this means that there was already sin in the world before adam and eve actually ate the fruit.

  i noticed recently.

  there was an item in the news on some terrible / horrific child pornography in germany.

  really disgusting to hear what these people were doing with children as young as a few months.

  I don't get it - Marriage in WT world

  in wt world, a marriage is only seen (considered) as legal if it is registered in the municipality (or similar governmental organisation).

  now, if you look at the scriptures, there was no requirement to have a marriage legally registered in order to be considered married.

  is it not strange that the wt subjects themselves to and adopts an worldly arrangement setup but governments rules by satan when it comes to a marital status?.

  Marry in white - a worldly practice

  i was not aware but just learned that is was queen victoria who was the first to get marries in white dress.

  .

  so, it is a worldly practice.... i assume jw's should reconsider whether they adopt / continue this worldly practice or keep away from it ... .
