I do not know the details but if you are about 20 years old with a job, move out and build your own life. Show your sister it is possible. Make friends at your work or via your boyfriend. In my experience, still visiting the meetings will make you more depressive. Your parents should allow you to build your own life and find your own happiness. Equally you are happy for them to follow their lives. Leaving the WT does not mean you leave God, as God does not live in houses or buildings. Use medication if needed but change of life is also strongly recommended. I started to support some charities in the community. Very rewarding. I hope this other view is also helpful.

They say that overwhelmingly the shareholders voted. So, there are shareholders. They want a return on their investment. How..... And, were these shareholders inspired by holy spirit or holy dollar bills????

you could say that as best man, you are very pleased that the guy has waited until he was mature (in age) to make such an important decision. As marriage is a life changing decision for the rest of your life, it should never be taken at a young age (ref to teen baptisms)…..

Judgment Day in Russia
by Tahoe inhttp://www.newsweek.com/jehovahs-witnesses-russia-are-having-their-homes-raided-even-remote-towns-934734.
law enforcement officials in birobidzhan, russia, a small town close to the border with china, raided 20 homes belonging to jehovah’s witnesses, according to members of the religious organization.. the raids were conducted by around 150 police officers, who nicknamed their operation “judgement day,” jarrod lopes, a member of the jehovah’s witnesses, told newsweek.
police confiscated photographs, bank cards, money and electronic devices from the houses they searched, said lopes.. a criminal case was opened against a man named alam aliev, who will be kept in pretrial detention until july, members of the religious group said.

It says: "despite the fact that respected international human rights organizations have condemned their actions"
I wonder what the WBTS consider "respected international human rights organisations".. Probably only those that they can use to their own benefit, despite such organisations are part of, what WT calls, satans world.

Active witnesses? Please help?

i actually like the jw faith.
some might call this faith cold, strict, dogmatic but they're just trying to follow rules and give back to god.

GB member in The Netherlands for contact with State secretary of Justice
by Gorbatchov indutch newspapers report that a gb member was in the netherlands last week for contact with the state secretary of justice because of the abuse cases.
(276 reported now).. no details were revealed.. g..

I thought the gb members are not accountable for WT nor does the WT dictate the gb. In other words, there is no legal relation. So why did one gb member show up????

This approach in Russia sounds extreme but it did not come unexpected. There are laws in a country, rightly or wrongly, but these laws are to be obeyed. The WT had the idea they could get away with their own approach or otherwise change course of things. It did not work. This would be for any organisation, religious or not.
Some or probably most JWs will see this as a fulfilment of some WT prophecy. A few might wake up. Nevertheless, I have seen political parties being dissolved because their resources dried up, people lost interest etc. In other words, if more countries adopt a similar policy, it can have a big impact.

With all respect, but if you trust your God to be your rock, why do you ask others?
