Hi Vanderhoven7, you said "Could this be a dangerous precedent?" Why is this to be considered dangerous? Personally I am happy when a judge makes it clear that religious rules are not above the law. In a country there is one set of laws that apply to all people. In that same country, you have often multiple religious organizations with their own set of rules. If these rules are above the national laws, people have no option to appeal or challenge the rules.

Just below this question about leaving, there is a question of shunning and it there it says:
Those who were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses but no longer preach to others, perhaps even drifting away from association with fellow believers, are not shunned. In fact, we reach out to them and try to rekindle their spiritual interest.
The NOT in Italic is not mine but from the article.

So, if the law requires people to vote, JW's are now allowed to vote? If the law prohibits preaching, JW's will obey and stop preaching?
Or only the WT headoffices chose what to obey and what not..... money rules.

True story or not, point remains: Why killing and driving out inhabitants of a piece of land just because you want your own people to live there.
It is like a blackmail approach: you either worship me or you will be killed.
If Satan was / is such a bad character, the worst of all, why not kill him in order to protect "your" people?

Jehovah Witness cult is Anti-christ.... proof seen in the use of BCE/CE instead of AD/BC
by goingthruthemotions inso being around this cult, i always found it interesting that the rest of christianity use ad/bc and the non christians use bce/ce.
i never put two and two together.
but, it dawned on me that once again there is hidden proof that the witness cult is and anti-christ cult.

The Bible speaks of the "Unforgivable Sin" ? What is it ?
by smiddy3 indo any jehovah`s witnesses or ex jehovah`s witnesses even know what that sin is ?.
why is such a statement in the bible if its not identified what that sin is ?.
were the authors of the book just playing with peoples heads ?

Agree. If there is a sin that is unforgivable, and has impact on your future (life), you'd expect an explicit explanation of what that sin is. As this is missing, it is up to all the "sweet and loving" shepherd in the various religious organisations to define it and use that definition.

Mexico: 2020 Census results released; bad news for the org?
by Corney ina decade ago, the 2010 census found there were 1,561,086 jehovah's witnesses in mexico (census page > tabular data > basic questionnaire > religion).
and according to the recently released 2020 census results, the number of mexicans identifying as such has declined by 2% to 1,530,909. both figures greatly outnumber those reported by the organization (e.g., peak publishers: 710 thousands and 874 thousands respectively), which means the former ones include children and free-riders.
for comparison, the total population has grown by 12%, the catholic, adventist (sda) and mormon (lds) populations - by 5%, 16% and 6% respectively.

I believe the difference is that WT counts those who report time, whereas a census counts those who say they belong to a religion. However those are not necessarily active. WT does not count the inactive ones, those who are POMO but when asked they are still identifying them as JW. I guess it is that this group does not want to be considered part of another Christian faith and at the same tie still believe.. Therefore, they would say to belong to JW as actually they do not.

"The founding of the world"
by Yalbadaoth inwhy are wt determined to relate the "founding of the world" to abel and "before the founding of the world" to a period before abel but after adam's sin?
there seems like a lot of twisting of verses and words to prove a point which always makes me suspicious of their motives!
(i have my own take on it but would like to hear others).

All verses with "Foundation of the world". It is OBVIOUS :-) or EVIDENT that since the foundation of the world does not have to mean the conception and birth of the Cain and Abel. Further, WT refers to Luke 11:50, in which I ask which generation do they mean here. CLEARLY the overlapping one. Anyway, enjoy.

Changed From "Disfellowshipped" to "No Longer One of Jehovah's Witnesses!
by Atlantis ina friend is trying to figure out the approximate date or letter, which indicated a change from the wording of public announcements.. they changed from saying the person has been disfellowshipped to saying that a person was no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.. i thought it was around the time of the bulgaria scandal.. could you help us out to remember when this change took place?
if we could remember the approximate year, we could look up all the boe's for that year and might find the letter.. many thanks!.
atlantis!.
