After twenty years of marriageā¦
by John Aquila ini just got a call from a friend who informed me that a brother whom i've known for a while and is an elder, just found out last night that his wife of 20+ years declared she was gay, and left him..
i still need to confirm but my friend is very reliable and was close friends with the family.
heres the thing, she spent 20+ years with this man, has children with him and now decides she wants to follow her heart.

Dwindling Attendance? Here's a quick fix!....
by Tech49 inso here's a real life experience you will get a kick out of.. our kh has about 90 publishers.
typical meeting attendance during a co visit is right at 100 or so.
the rest of the time, attendance is a dismal 50-60, sometimes 70 on a good week!.

Nothing new...it's been going on for decades...low attendance and no matter how many local needs they give it will not do any good.
Was an elder for 21 years and at every elder meeting we would discuss the problem.
Let's not forget a good 50% of JW's don't have the " truth " in their heart, don't believe in it and just go through the motion of being a witness.
Back in the 80's and 90's two congregation that split due to increase of publishers , eventually they had to get back to one congr. due to low attendance and people falling out.
Good news indeed !!!

Why JW marriage is a huge problem for the organization.
by kneehighmiah inthe difficulty of finding a marriage mate is well known for sisters.
but i would say it's hard for brothers also.
i was talking to a jw last night.

When you buy a car you just don't look at the engine and how reliable the car is, i don't, i want the whole package.
When you look at beautiful things our brain releases chemicals that make us feel good and that goes with a beautiful wife.
Same with your future wife "package" is the key as long as you can also be the "package" she's looking for.
After my divorce from my JW wife i was committed never to marry a JW again, they are nuts and mostly due to the indoctrination of the religion.

Saw my first JW literature cart
by undercover ini saw a jw literature cart, and two dubs standing behind it this weekend.
they set up at a popular well attended event in a small town that brings thousands of people from around the country.
even though i've been out and away from jws for some time, and no longer identify as one of them, and the people i was with had no clue, it was a bit embarrassing to see the cart and cult zombies with it.

Saw the same at the pier in Oceanside CA. two older guys, probably retired just standing there , not smiling and not saying a word to anyone, no one would even look at them.
Felt sorry for the " brothers " ....what a waste of time.
140 years of preaching of a paradise that will never come.

The official requirement for salvation in the latest WT, nothing to do with Jesus......
by EndofMysteries in"those with the earthly hope who supported christs brothers in the preaching work will have been judged as sheep and will be granted the privilege of living in the earthly realm of the kingdom.
" 3/2015 study wt learn from illustration of talents par 13.. so there you have it, to get salvation you need to only obey the gb and if you obey and worship the gb, then you will be judged as a sheep.
truly those who listen and obey, will be blessed!.

And don't forget to send the cash to Jesus' brothers. A cup full of cash will get you life on earth.

What laws are on your side (in the U.S.) so you can leave quietly
by oppostate inin another topic "just quit quietly - the law is on your side" there was a lot of discussion about how to leave quietly without getting tagged publicly as "no longer a jw".
here are some legal cases that could be used to show support for leaving quietly.. you have to first send a letter saying you're leaving that specific congregation, and that you don't want them to keep records of you.. if the boe says anything against you here are some court cases that make precedent for bringing a suit against them:.
baugh v. thomas (1970).

Sounds complicated what you outlined.
Quietly walk away from the congregation, if approached by elders don't say anything that allows them to DF you.
Move on with your life.

"bad blood" German TV
by inbetween inhttp://www.ardmediathek.de/tv/reportage-dokumentation/b%c3%b6ses-blut-kehrtwende-in-der-intensivm/das-erste/video?documentid=24921128&bcastid=799280.
for those who understand german (some parts are in english).
basically the german public tv station aired last monday a program about the danger of blood transfusions and a needed change of habits of hospitals and doctors, also about the resistance of giovernments and blood banks, touching even on financial interests.

How many millions get transfused and most turn out well and save lives?
I rather have a transfusion.
