  LOL @ Heathen,

  Ok, I apologize. You are just disrespectful to anyone who's point of view differs from yours..... it is not just women you hate...... it's everybody who is against you and since almost everybody has a different opinion than you, they are therefore all out to get you and against you, in your opinion. But hey, some paranoid delusional people live long and delusionally happy lives.

  Let me know how that doctor appt. goes. Until then, I'll dedicate my time to people who would at least respect my viewpoints, even if they feel that theirs may be more enlightened. Those of us who admit that we are wrong, ironically, lead happeir lives you know.

  every baby born seems to have a giant helping of fairy stories, talking animals, outrageous exaggerations parading as "fact" and an endless stream of cartoons, science fiction and make-believe.

  the laws of nature and physics are violated every few seconds in film and tv!

  is it surprising that children are not only ignorant of how things really work-but, they don't have patience and an appetite for fact when they get to the schoolroom.

  Well, it seems like a good amount of my posts refer to the comparison between my ex's JW family's theories on raising children and my own non-JW theories..... and here's another perfect opportunity.

  I can't really say exactly how my ex treats the kids, but if it was the way that she was when we were together, it is usually a high stress time for them.... lots of strict rules, absolutes, punishments, etc., with little praise. So when the kids are with me, I always make sure they are safe, but aside from that, I just let them be as free and peaceful as possible. They role play and create numerous imaginary friends/creatures, so it would seem to me that fantasy is a very natural part of life. Keeping that fantasy world from them must stunt their mind development.

  Irregardless of the deeper psychological reasoning, they are very happy in their own little fantasy world..... so how bad can that be?

  I haven't really read too many of your posts, Terry, but maybe you should lighten up a bit on your kids. That's not meant to be rude, but just let them believe what they want. It is THEIR reality, after all.

  My ex-wife/ex-mother-in-law hired a thug to "hurt" me

  i was out at the local pub on monday night and a big guy came up to me and wanted to "talk" to me.

  as i went to see what he wanted, i made eye contact with the bouncer so that he knew that i wasn't completely cofortable with the situation.

  the guy started off by saying that my ex-wife has been complaining that i have been harrassing her and that it's getting bad enough that she has to move out of town.

  I appreciate your advice and consideration for my welfare and in no way do I condone or respect what these guys were about to do. I had met K. a few times through a friend, but I had no idea that he was capable of doing what he has since admitted he was prepared to do.

  However, in comparison to my ex mother-in-law, he's a saint. Think about it. I am the father of her grandchildren and she has tried to have me framed for sexually assaulting my child and then, when that didn't work, she resorted to trying to have me hurt or worse. She also admitted to K. that she is planning to frame me for something else, since I SUPPOSEDLY got away with the sexual assault thing. And it seems that her only real motive is that I have prevented my children from being raised as a JW. At the same time, K. has basically prevented the other people from doing what he was about to do. I know it doesn't make it right but he's a better ally than the grandmother of my children is to me.

  Then we get to the fear of what he might have done to me if I go against what he says. If I went behind his back, after, IN HIS OPINION, he has looked out for me, I'm sure he would get back at me, after the sentence or whatever. HIS PERCEPTION of my treatment of him is far more important than my idea of what is just.

  I'm out of money, but I think I will get a free half-hour consultation with a lawyer. A lawyer might have a better idea of other options I may have.

  You are right!! I am not a doctor. That's why I suggested that you go to see one, but while you are there, looking into whether you are paranoid delusional, it seems like you should get some help with your anger, too, especially towards women, since you seem a little too comfortable blaming this entire Belgium government action on "some silly housewife".

  My, my, my, my, my............... Not once did I suggest that we should ban the JW's or any other religion. I am in complete agreement with your opinion that it would only push them further into their shell, causing them to shout even louder that they are the chosen ones. When organizations use circular reasoning, like the dubs do, (i.e. we (WTBTS) are teaching radical teachings, that the rest of society feels is unsafe and unfair for innocent children, for example, but that we have proven is what God wants, and when they persecute us it proves even more that we are the chosen religion, since God has also said (out of context) that his true followers would be persecuted) it only reinforces what, IMO is delusional thinking.

  I am the best looking guy in the world and every person who thinks otherwise is just jealous........ is that likely?.... absolutely not, but that is basically the crux of the JW (and other high-control religions) teaching.

  The main point that I am trying to make about this whole Belgian thing is that they are dealing with these high-control religions pretty well and pretty fairly. It's like the theory that a lot of people say that governments should legalize drugs (at least relatively safe ones) and we could use the tax from it, to better the rest of the country in other ways. Better, since people are going to use drugs anyway, for the majority of the people to benefit from the profits, rather than just the few "criminals" who profit from it now.

  If religions, by their basic tenents, seem willing to take freedoms away from their followers, then why shouldn't the gov't take tax advantages, for example, away from them?

  You're an interesting character. You take things completely out of context, or else just don't read the whole story, or something. You quote, that I said God gave us freedom of religion when in fact I was just repeating your thoughts. Don't group me in with yours, please.

  God (or whatever), did not give us the inalienable right to wrship however we choose. He gave us the free thought process that when we are told to worship a certain way, to judge others harshly, to hit our kids, to not take blood.... etc., etc., etc., that we are still able to see that this is NOT the best way to do things and to leave the situation. Just because other JW's wish to continue to judge us, doesn't meant that we have to accept that as being anything other than a weakness that they have not overcome.

  To quote Jesus, (sort of), 'I am no part of the JW world (or any other org. whose basic premise is to control people, with negative consequences), just as my father is no part of this world.'

  I agree to a certain extent, that the JW's, for example, do show their true colours in the press, etc., but I think we need to do more than just sit idly by and allow them to slowly lose respect, even within their own ranks. How many people have to, at best, live their lives without fully being free and open-minded and loving unconditionally? That "half living" is as sad as dying, IMHO.

  Was that in the article? I couldn't get any more than what Ezekiel3 had copied, to come up. If they went to that extreme to say that then that is a concern as well, for sure, but I still think that it is OK for them to make public the concerns they have about other more extreme religions, like Jw's, Mormons and Scientologists.

  This may sound harsh, but have you gone to a doctor to ask whether you are a "paranoid delusional" person? The rest of the world is not out to "get the Americans". Sheesh!!!!
