Edited to add: I had sex before marriage, with the woman who was to become my wife for ten years. Any other questions feel free to ask. I have no problem sharing my disfellowshipping story with anyone because it holds no weight over me anymore.
i was born in 1964, a convenient 50 years after 1914. even in my early teens i was doing the sums.
i had a worse case scenario figured out - if the 1914 generation could apply to babies and even if they lived to be a 120, i would still only be about 70 years old after they'd all died!
i figured that i was part of the first wave of 'jehovah's people' that really would live to see the new order - guaranteed!!
I was born in 1969... I always felt the 1914 date was the most important of JW teachings. I got df'd in 1992 and was half-in, half-out for the next few years. When 1995 came and the "generation" teaching was changed I was gone, never to look back.
No regrets since then.

While I consider this statement to be true, I would not consider it to be a JW belief. It was a more of a motivational catch-phrase. And, since the Witnesses are considered by most/all here to be a part of that same "snare and racket", would it not be contradictory to say that they were "correct" in condemning themselves? Therefore this belief is simply not that for me, anyway.
I have been thinking for quite some time on "What JW belief I think is correct" and I haven't been able to agree with any posted so far and I cannot think of any that I would consider to be true, myself, either.
I feel quite at peace about my time as a JW, so I don't feel jaded, but I still do not feel that anything they taught was "correct".

It doesn't quite seem fair does it? "Put your swords down in the name of peace or else I'm gonna do the exact same thing to you that I am commanding you to not do."

just think of someone that did something special for you, and thank them.
either post a note of your appreciation, or call the person and just say "thankyou for....." and let us know how it goes.
Thanks to my children for coming into my life. There are so many theories on being/existence, but like FMZ said,
love is all that matters.
All theories put aside for a moment, my children are the best teachers I have ever had. The first part of my life I would have thought I would be their teacher. I have learned differently since then, and I accept my role as both student and teacher to them equally.

outbutnotdown --- I believe there are plenty of people who feign friendship hoping to take advantage given the opportunity . The sad part is you even find that in the religion . The bible does say that there would be people that would bring suspicion on the group of christians as a whole .

You live your life believing that people are "out to get you" and I'll live mine by simply cutting off those who have proven to try to take advantage of me. Seems to me that the one who gives the benefit of the doubt rather than living in a state of paranoia will be the happier of the two.
