ITALY MILAN - 2017 SPECIAL CONVENTION - July 2017
Marking the 54th ANNIVERSARY of the legendary 1963 Franz and Knorr "Everlasting Good News" AROUND-THE-WORLD TOUR which stopped off at Milan's world famous Vigorelli Velodrome from 21 to 28 July 1963 - it was here that Nathan Knorr released the New World Translation of the Christian Greek Scripture in Italian, while 20,516 people attended the public talk by Fred Franz (there where only just over 7,000 JWs in the whole of Italy at that time - today there are 250,000 JWs of which nearly 34,000 are regular pioneers).

Apparently....
Nothing said about ARC. It was mainly about positive aspects of the organization. How in some remote land north of Australia they give away 4000 brochures in 2hrs. Video interviews of witnesses. How one non believer paid the postage on all letters to Russia that one kh wrote. And as always, at the start, "no videos or recordings are to be made". I can't understand that one, since life's water is supposed to be free to everyone.

1 April 2017 - a new book has been released today titled "Exit to life: How I stopped being a Jehovah's Witness"
The three-part structure of the work on the basis of his first names - I. Konja, II. Simon, III. Konja Simon - appears to be banal at first sight, but, on closer examination, especially when reading the text it develops a chronological theme. The long chapter "Konja" covers the entire Jehovah epoch from birth, childhood, youth to adulthood. There are oppressive passages about so-called brainwashing and physical chastisement measures as legitimate methods of education, as well as the shattering suicide of his elder brother Jorim, who cruelly kills himself.
With the chapter "Simon" Rohde rings the entrance into the exit. Simon was his second assignment, because the Duisburger registry office of the year 1976 was of the opinion that Konja could not be attributed clearly to the male gender. So his parents had to give him a second first name. At the beginning of the third chapter, "Konja Simon", it says in the book: "Now it is a little complicated with my names. The people who knew me before my departure know me under the name 'Konja' and the ones to which I afterwards I met a woman who, when she heard of my former name, began to call me 'Konja Simon', I liked that somehow ... (...) Ultimately, anyone can help me As he likes, chief, he greets me and speaks to me. "

Yet another kingdom hall being sold off
by pepperheart inhi acording to a property website called rightmove a kingdom hall in dawlish devon is being sold off.. another poster has told us that in liverpool two more kingdom halls are being sold off, so this has been a good week .

The 54 publishers (including 9 elders) in the Dawlish Congregation now have to travel THREE MILES to use the KH in the neighbouring seaside town of Teignmouth (Thursdays and Sunday afternoons), which they now share with the 86 publishers (including 10 elders) in the Teignmouth congregation (Wednesdays and Sunday mornings).

with immediate effect, a 15 march suspension order forbids the administrative centre and all its local religious organisations from "using state and municipal news media, organising and conducting assemblies, rallies, demonstrations, processions, picketing, and other mass actions or public events, and using bank deposits, with the exception of use for making payments connected with their economic activity, compensating for losses (damages) caused by their actions, and paying taxes, fees, or fines, and making payments based on labour contracts" .

I did wonder about the amount of postage and stepped back to see the bigger picture... and it's a massive picture.... and I think the WT is perhaps getting too much credit.
For some context....
If you say US JWs alone send 6 million letters in total spread over seven days?
But the US Postal Service says it actually processes and delivers 500 MILLION pieces of mail EACH day
6 million of (500 million x 7 days) = is that less than 0.25% of all post that would be WT generated? - yes?
In delivery logistics, the most time consuming part is the so-called 'last-mile' - that's not a big issue for the WT letters, because they're really all going to the same place (ok, six places, but not 6 million different places)

In the UK, competitors to the UK's Royal Mail fall down with the logisitics of the 'last-mile' - that's the final part of the route to the actual door of the address (ie the door-to-door postal deliveries).
I'm not saying there will be a bit of congestion, but not on the scale some seem to be talking up, not on the above numbers.
I suspect also for political reasons (?) the Russian Post will publically minimise any perceived problems they might be having.
I don't have time, but for those interested also check out the Universal Postal Union - it deals with international post - and deals with 'terminal dues' - the amount of money the Russian Post will take from the postage being paid worldwide.
